TietoEnator - new IT partner for the Jämtland county council The Jämtland county council has decided to change suppliers for its IT operations and helpdesk function from 1 January 2001. The new supplier is TietoEnator. The contract means that TietoEnator takes over the operation of networks and servers, local service and support for the employees. The contract value is SEK 35M. "We have made the judgement that TietoEnator is the supplier who, in the long term, is the supplier who will best correspond to the county council's requirements for the development of its IT environment. It is important to point out that we have conducted an extensive evaluation of the companies that have submitted tenders. We have weighed in a large number of requirements where there is no doubt that TietoEnator is the company that best satisfies the needs of the Jämtland county council", says Ingemar Ståhl, county council IT strategist. Among its larger customers TietoEnator has, for example, the City of Stockholm, where it has the total responsibility for the operation and system administration. The company has 30 years of experience as co- operation partner with local authorities and county councils. "As IT becomes more and more integrated into operations, interference-free systems are becoming all the more important. It is a known fact that operation and support services stand for a greater portion of the IT costs for Nordic companies and organisations", says Bo-Göran Danielsson, marketing manager of TietoEnator, Public Partner. "We feel a great responsibility for the confidence that the Jämtland county council has shown us through this contract. Our ambition is to be a total IT partner for our customers and we have in-depth knowledge of county councils' specific operations", says Bo-Göran Danielsson. "In order that everything shall work as painlessly as possible, we immediately start with an introductory project so that the new supplier's staff can get acquainted with the county council's IT environment before the take-over. Everything for the smoothest possible transition", says Ingemar Ståhl.
