TietoEnator acquires Solteq healthcare and social welfare business

TietoEnator acquires Solteq healthcare and social welfare business TietoEnator Corporation has acquired the healthcare and social welfare business operations of the Finnish company Solteq Plc (formerly TH Tiedonhallinta Oyj). This acquisition supports TietoEnator's growth strategy and strengthens its position as the leading supplier of IT systems for the healthcare and social welfare sector in the Nordic countries. The acquired business will be transferred to TietoEnator on 1 January 2001 and 23 employees of this business will follow to TietoEnator as former employees. This operation means that ProSalus software will have greater possibilities of succeeding in the market and at the same time the customers will be offered more diversified services. Solteq has had, as customers, approximately 30 health centres and 50 private occupational health centres. The net sales of this business last year totalled FIM 12.5 million. The price of the acquisition is FIM 8 million and the prospective extra FIM 2 million in 2001. TietoEnator itself serves about 100 health centres in Finland. It has acquired all of Solteq's health and social services products, of which the newest product family, ProSalus, is now being introduced at several customer locations. ProSalus will become a TietoEnator product.
