TietoEnator adds e-relations to its range of healthcare solutions

This solution is based on an agreement with Medixine Oy under which TietoEnator will integrate Medixine software into its healthcare products. TietoEnator's Internet services will enable Finnish citizens to access healthcare services more flexibly, independent of time and place. Medical centres and hospitals, on the other hand, will be able to reduce patient visits, thereby saving costs and enhancing service levels by providing better availability of information and more flexible consultation between doctors and other experts. The popularity of private online medical services has grown for as long as these have been available, fuelled not only by the rapid proliferation of Internet connections and mobile phones but also as people show increasing interest in their own health and wellbeing. Secure connections allow individuals to receive advice on personal questions. Online medical services support the patient care process since customers need to provide information via their own doctor, for example, to facilitate data collection and pre-assessment. Similarly, customers can be given information on test results and instructions on medication and further care once care has been provided. Medixine online applications include an Online Web Doctor for anonymous inquiries, an Online Web Doctor for private and protected communication between a named patient and doctor, Online Scheduling, and Health Discussions. Medixine in combination with TietoEnator's healthcare solutions makes local medical services available, such as a personal doctor, when customers are otherwise unable to get help for reasons of time or location.
