TietoEnator Created an E-Commerce Portal for Eesti Telefon TietoEnator has created a shopping centre type E-Commerce Portal for Estonia's Eesti Telefon where Estonian retailers to an even larger extent can sell their products on-line. "The portal provides an easy way for Estonian retailers to shift to online commerce without having to invest heavily in information technology", says Risto Kulmats, E-commerce Manager at Eesti Telefon Eesti Telefon´s portal offers retailers a readymade platform that is simple to join. It handles the acceptance of orders, product flow and invoicing. The merchants are responsible for product pricing, price updating and updating their own product range. For the consumer the portal means that he or she is able to purchase a range of products from a variety of different merchants and collect them into an electronic shopping cart during a single online session. A customer's purchases are paid for through an online bank with one transaction, and all purchases are delivered to the customer in a single mailing. There are currently four retailers operating in the system, offering - amongst other things toys, clothing, books and computer products. One of the online stores is a TeleRing shop. For the time being, the service is available exclusively to Estonians, although Eesti Telefon aims at expanding the service to cover the entire Baltic region. The project has been carried out at TietoEnator by a multi-national group of Finnish, Estonian and Lithuanian Internet experts.
