TietoEnator provides a mobile solution for the City of Oulu Healthcare Services The City of Oulu Social Welfare and Healthcare Services has decided to start a mobile solution pilot project in their customer communications as part of the implementation of their Effica system, serving the patient admittance operations of non-institutional healthcare. The TietoEnator Effica Viesti aims to improve communication between the nursing staff and patients, so that communication can take place regardless of time or place. The pilot project has started at Student Health Services. The first phase involves the application of the Effica Viesti solution to laboratory test result inquiries using a mobile phone. Patients do not need to wait in line when calling at specified times, nor is it necessary to arrange separate nursing staff to answer the calls. - The City of Oulu intends to be a pioneer in the provision and use of customer-based and innovative network services. The pilot project about to begin is one important step in our development operations. The use of text messages facilitates for its part the telecommunication, and it enables a flexible handling of affairs, says Jukka Liedes, Project Manager at the City of Oulu Health Centre.
