TietoEnator's consultants give advice and support to European Commission TietoEnator has expanded and extended its agreement with the European Commission regarding quality assurance and project development. TietoEnator has been responsible for quality assurance since the beginning of 2001, and the agreement has now been extended to 2002. The work involves advice and consulting support valued at about EUR 1,2 million primarily for the industry and health service directorates in Brussels and Luxembourg. The aim of the quality-assurance work is to bring business-style benefits to various projects in the EU's Interchange of Data between Administrations (IDA) programme. The programme, which will run for several years, is designed to develop and facilitate the exchange of digital information between EU member states, directorates and the business community. The programme consists of about 40 IT projects and has a budget of about EUR 65 million. TietoEnator's expertise in, among other things, quality assurance, project management, benchmarking, e-government and cost/benefit analysis will help support the IDA programme. The European Parliament has decided that the quality assurance of the IDA programme shall follow a set plan.
