TietoEnator supplies Varma-Sampo with an electronic insurance folder

TietoEnator supplies Varma-Sampo with an electronic insurance folder TietoEnator implements an Internet based insurance folder for Varma-Sampo. With the new system, corporations can handle their pension insurance affairs in the Internet, both more easily and quicker than before. The customer gets basic service connected to TEL (employees' pension act) and YEL (self-employed persons' pension act) insurances with the varma- sampo.fi folder. The system will be implemented in phases. The first part of the service, already taken into use, includes real time insurance information and allows e.g. giving a declaration to pension insurance companies. Later on new functions will be added to the insurance folder. The objective is to offer corporate customers a total solution for handling pension insurance affairs in network environment. The customer needs to sign up an agreement with Varma-Sampo for the folder to be created. Thereafter the service is at the customer's disposal via an Internet connection. The system is based on cutting-edge network technology. The implementation has been carried out e.g. with XML (eXtensible Markup Language) description language and the latest features of J2EE (Java 2 Enterprise Edition), such as EJB (Enterprise JavaBeans). The mutual pension insurance company Varma-Sampo and TietoEnator co- operate in the financial field with an information technology partnership where both parties concentrate in their own core competencies. In the financial sector TietoEnator has over 1500 experts and the service strategy is based on a long-term partnership with customers.
