TietoEnator takes over maintenance and development of Ahlstrom Paper Group's Optimill system
TietoEnator takes over maintenance and development of Ahlstrom Paper Group's Optimill system TietoEnator has concluded an agreement with Ahstrom Paper Group covering maintenance and development of the Group's Optimill system. Responsibility for maintenance and development and the associated software systems were transferred to TietoEnator on 1 January 2001. The agreement marks a further stage in the long-term co-operation between the two companies in development of the Optimill system. The agreement now signed supports TietoEnator's growth strategy and strengthens its position as a leading provider of mill management systems to the paper and board industry. Optimill is a mill-wide operating system encompassing sales management, production management and quality information applications. It combines elements developed for Ahlstrom's particular needs with modules from TietoEnator's TIPS paper and board mill product family. Optimill has been supplied to seven of Ahlstrom Paper Group's mills in Finland, Germany, Italy, France and the USA. Use of the system will be extended during 2001 to cover altogether 14 mills. The Optimill system enables Ahlstrom to optimize and unify its business processes from order intake to invoicing. Sales management is concentrated under regional systems. The mill systems operate in a distributed manner in the mills.
