TietoEnator to deliver a customer service system for the Social and Health Care Services of the city of Nokia TietoEnator and the city of Nokia in Finland have signed a contract on the delivery of the Effica system for the city's Social and health care services' customer service system. - We aim to improve the town residents' social and health care services by utilizing the most contemporary technology and reliable information management. We sought a customer-oriented system that would be a helpful tool not only in our statutory tasks, but also in the development and assessment of our work and the realization of seamless service chains, for instance, in services for the elderly. This means that up-to-date information must be available to all authorized users. When selecting the supplier, we also valued the clarity and user-friendliness of the solution as well as the possibilities of utilizing new technologies, state Hanna Ahonen, Head of Social Services, and Jorma Salonen, Health Center director, from the city of Nokia. The solution will be serving the Health Center's reception, institutional and home care services, special health care services, dental care services and laboratories, and it will also be used for communication with the Tampere University Hospital. Within the social services, Effica will also be used by children day care services, individual and family care services, the Supervisor of issues concerning children, and the management of alimony issues. The system's implementation will be carried out in phases. The Health Center will start utilizing the system at the end of this year, and the day care services will take it into use in March 2003.
