United Sawmills implements TietoEnator's Information Management System UPM-Kymmene's United Sawmills Ltd. has adopted TietoEnator's Wood Product Solution (WPS). WPS is an enterprise- and mill-level management information system for sawmills, wood processing companies, and forest product sales offices. The system rollout for United Sawmills, Ltd's sawmills and sites were successfully completed at the end of April. The entire company is now connected to one common system. TietoEnator's WPS has been developed in collaboration with United Sawmills and other TietoEnator mechanical forest industry customers. It is built to support the changing business needs of the industry. Through a Web browser, users are able to access data related to production, warehouse management, sales, invoicing, delivery, logistics, purchasing, planning, and budgeting. The Web technology also enables easy-to- implement electronic customer services, and mobile business solutions. "TietoEnator is experienced in building sawmill systems. Their WPS meets the criteria we set for our IT needs. Today, companies often have to go through several organisational changes, and need to react quickly to changes in the business environment.
