Blogger Caisa K. compiles her own card of Tikkurila colours
In 2013, Caisa K. received the award for the most beautiful interior decoration blog in the Gloria Blog Awards in Finland. Her blog is delightful with beautiful pictures and punchy text. Ms Camilla Klemets, whose blog is in Swedish, also has a loyal group of Finnish-speaking followers. In 2014, she compiles her own Caisa K. colour card by selecting a colour for each month from Tikkurila's collections. A new colour is published each month on Tikkurila's website and Facebook group.
The colour for January is Talvi V503 (Winter) from the Feel the Colour collection. Camilla explains the selected colour as follows: "White is often used as the basis in my designs. It creates light and a sense of space, and I think white is a good basis for various types of interior designs. I like clean shades of white."
Camilla Klemets chose Mustamarja 3444 (Blackberry) as the colour for February. The shade is found in Tikkurila's Interior Wood Stains and Lacquers colour card. "Once again, I was inspired by nature. I am currently especially intrigued by contrasts. The dark, bare branches of trees and bushes make beautiful works of art, and they create exciting contrasts against an otherwise white background. I chose a dark brown shade as the colour for February because of the inspiration from bare branches," explains Camilla.
When the blogger selects a colour, she also uses it in her interior decoration or surroundings. She used the Mustamarja shade of Kiva Furniture Lacquer to treat an old door, which was given a new life as a table top. Camilla Klemets says: "Similarly to the beautiful contrast of dark tree branches against chalk white snow, this dark brown table creates a lovely contrast against the white background colour of the room."
Gloria Blog Awards (GBA) is a concept designed by Hill and Knowlton Finland Oy for awarding the best bloggers in food, interior decoration and style categories. GBA is organised together with media partner Sanoma Magazines Finland's magazines Gloria, Glorian Ruoka & Viini, Glorian Koti and Glorian Antiikki.
