PPG Tikkurila today announced the Color Now 2024 collection and Nude in Nizza as the 2024 Color of the Year for the Tikkurila by PPG brand. Nude in Nizza is a peachy-toned color that radiates warmth. This year’s Color Now 2024 collection - Tikkurila x Marie Olsson Nylander - was designed by the renowned Swedish interior designer Marie Olsson Nylander.

"The trend for warm interior colors is still going strong and will remain so in the future,” said Irina Hanhisalo, PPG color category manager, Tikkurila brand. ”Soft and welcoming colors that make rooms feel peaceful and cozy are easy to combine with different materials and styles. Nude in Nizza, is neutral but with color. It celebrates the feeling of love, kindness and playfulness.”

With the Color Now 2024 collection Marie Olsson Nylander aims to surprise and inspire people to see colors from new perspectives. With the color collection, she has played with contrasts, drawn color and name combinations from her memories and paired them with connotations she has about certain places and symbols. These contrasts portray how she sees the world as a place where emotions mix — just like our intuition and senses work.

The palette of 14 colors consists of light, gentle shades, rich tones, and dark accents. Surprising and eclectic contrasts make these color names memorable and fun. The colors can be used both on large surfaces and in small details.

”As we know, intuition feels mystical – yet it’s our most powerful tool. It’s when our brain works with our gut to access all our memories, learnings, personal needs and preferences,” Hanhisalo said. ”It’s a deep knowing, free of norms, expectations and judgement. It’s surrendering to your surroundings and your true, most authentic, self.”

”With the Color of the Year 2024 and the Color Now 2024 Collection, we want to inspire people to do what feels best, to choose color and creativity based on an innermost feeling – and letting our intuition guide us in directions we didn’t know possible.”

Color Now and the Color of the Year have been launched annually since 2016.
