Tilgin is now releasing the Mood 400 IP Set-top Box for High Definition and personalized home entertainment. Meeting the requirements and expectations of a new era of media consumers, the Mood 400 offers an unparalleled IPTV viewing and entertainment experience. Key functionality includes HDTV, integrated and feature rich Personal Video Recorder (PVR), MPEG-4 AVC support for reduced bandwidth advantages and DVB-Terrestial support for free-to-air channel viewing.

The new attractive Mood 400 IP set-top box offers market leading PVR functionality on a 160 GB hard disk. Besides expected functionality for scheduled recording and pause live TV or trick-play, Tilgin also offers value added PVR functionality for encrypted dual stream recording, time stamped fast forward and rewind, auto-recording of metadata for custom naming, CA integrations, as well as streaming to auxiliary STBs in the home.

And as with other Tilgin set-tops, the Mood 400 leverages the powerful and reliable Tilgin Mood Development Kit (MDK) for turbo integrations with 3rd party software (middleware and CA/DRM systems) and system integration processes. It also employs the Mood Boot Server (MBS) for automated and secure software provisioning and delivery.

“The Mood 400 is meeting a growing need from operators to supply higher quality, as well as more personalized and flexible home entertainment IPTV solutions. It is a top-of-the-line product that matches the demanding environment of HD-enabled home entertainment systems,” says Rolf Nordqvist, Senior Product Manager IP set-top boxes, Tilgin.

The Mood 400 is engineered around the system-on-chip STB7109 platform from ST Microelectronics and comes equipped with a wide range of connections including USB 2.0 and HDMI (High Definition Media Interface) for an easy, discreet and high quality connection to a flat panel TV or home cinema projector. It also supports HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) which is quickly becoming a requirement from content owners such as production companies etc.

Tilgin ecosystem partners are now integrating with the Mood 400 and the product will be available for operator deployments during the forth quarter. It will be showcased in the Tilgin booth (Hall 4, Stand 299) at IBC in Amsterdam on September 8-12.
