Brussels, Belgium, 30 September 2008: Tilgin, a leading provider of customer premises equipment solutions for multi-play and next-generation broadband services, today announces at Broadband World Forum 2008 in Brussels new VCM 5 Service and Device Management. Designed according to the Broadband Forum’s TR-069 specifications for Auto Configuration Servers, new VCM 5 offers more – helping operators to not only auto-provision customer premises equipment (CPE), but also comprehensively manage, diagnose and troubleshoot up to millions of devices in the digital home.

VCM 5 is designed with an operator’s business in focus, assisting them in their processes of Automated Provisioning, Recurring Service/Device Upgrades, Proactive Maintenance, plus Diagnostics and Troubleshooting. Comprehensive TR-069 support now provides operators with a solution that is vendor agnostic.

VCM5 also offers new cluster architecture for operational continuity and scalability. Operators are equipped with a robust redundant solution that can scale to manage up to millions of devices. The architecture supports load balancing together with multiple front-end and back-end servers, engineered to deliver carrier-class high performance, scalability and fail-safe operations.

“This is Tilgin’s 5th generation ACS product and an integral component of our Telco Home Gateway offerings,” says Ola Berglund, Tilgin CEO. “New VCM 5 is an evolution of what we have delivered to over a hundred service providers since we originally released the product in 2001. It has successfully kept operators in full control over their CPE, significantly reducing their operational costs and helping them to easily rollout new service functionality.”

New VCM 5 builds on key functionality from previous VCM versions, including zero-touch provisioning, hierarchical group management, helpdesk and troubleshooting, along with statistics and performance monitoring. Northbound interfaces allow operators to integrate with their OSS/BSS, CRM and NMS at services, network and element management levels. Role-based authorization for network engineers and helpdesk staff also allow operators to provide varying degrees of access rights to support and networking staff.

VCM 5 has been commercially proven in mass-market deployment and is immediately available for deployment together with Tilgin home gateways and other TR-069 standard compliant CPE.
