Stockholm, August 16, 2007: Tilgin, a leading provider of customer premises equipment (CPE) for triple play and IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystems) based services, has received an initial order worth around 100,000 Euros from German triple play provider wilhelm.tel to provide its CPE equipment to the city of Norderstedt, Hamburg and surrounding areas fiber wideband network (FTTH).

The order represents the first commercial sale for Tilgin’s Vood 1200 next-gen gateway, which will function as an integrated part of the wilhelm.tel fiber network. The order also includes Tilgin to provide wilhelm.tel with its VCM centralized remote management system to maximize the efficiency of the integrated system and enable wilhelm.tel to offer a wide range of managed IP based services to its current subscriber base of approximately 30.000 homes in the Hamburg region. The first of these will be an advanced IP-telephony service (VoIP over IMS), building on Tilgin home gateways and the Ericsson IMS solution IMT (IMS Multimedia Telephony).

The integration of the Tilgin solutions, which include technical support and professional services, into the wilhelm.tel system has reached final test stages. Test groups of wilhelm.tel users are already testing the Tilgin CPE in real home environments, with large field trials planned in September 2007 alongside a commercial launch of the new wilhelm.tel VoIP service. wilhelm.tel expects a large-scale deployment of their new VoIP service to be finalized by the end of 2007.

wilhelm.tel is part of the Stadtwerke Nordenstedt, a publicly owned utility company providing gas, water, electrical power, district heating and regional public transportation to consumers in the Hamburg region. The new order enables wilhelm.tel to leverage on already existing infrastructure in the region to offer internet access and IP-telephony services.

Theo Weirich, CEO/Geschäftsführer at wilhelm.tel GmbH says about the deal:
“The decision to implement the Tilgin solution is a key part of the end-to-end solution we are implementing with Ericsson’s IMS solution. Tilgin’s combination of technical expertise and solution-based approach offered more than just a ‘box installation’ service. The combination of the advanced and centralized remote management system and Ericsson’s IMT solution allows us to provide a powerful managed service environment for our customers. The comprehensive support Tilgin offered from presales through to product evaluation was also a significant factor in our decision.”

“Because our services are delivered over a fiber network we need a supplier who can deliver very high performance products. Tilgin meets this need and also provides us with a remote management system that can support the TR-069 functionality.”

Ola Berglund, CEO at Tilgin, adds:
“wilhelm.tel’s choice of Tilgin’s gateways confirms our leading edge in a market where voice quality is critical. Germany is a key market for us and we have made a point of adapting all our products to local requirements. We see this deal as further justification for the recent launch of a dedicated sales representation in Germany.”

Tilgin recently launched its new ISDN home gateway and IAD products designed specifically to meet the needs of the German market.
