Tilgin has delivered more than 10 000 residential gateways to a major competitive service provider in Slovenia. This is the company’s first significant deal in the Eastern European market, and shows promise of continued volume deliveries over the coming months.

Tilgin delivers the residential gateways that will be used for triple play services. These include functions such as three and eight LAN ports respectively, dual telephone connections and support for triple play services: IP-TV, VoIP and broadband access.

The solution will be based on Tilgin’s residential gateways and the administration solution VCM, Vood Centre Manager and delivered by Tilgin’s partner DSC d.o.o, which is represented in Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia and Albania.

“Triple-play is on everyone’s agenda right now and we have chosen to go with Tilgin’s solution mainly because of their real-world experience with triple-play and their focus on delivering business value. Their auto-provisioning and remote administration functionality significantly reduces the operating expenditures for our customers, while the feature-rich residential gateways provide the end-users with excellent connectivity and performance,” says Vladimir Ban, Managing Director at DSC.

The Tilgin residential gateways are designed to connect to an existing broadband modem, and to provide a VoIP solution. When the residential gateways are installed, the software Vood Centre Manager provides auto-activation and configuration. Auto-activation and single IP-address handling keep installations simple and essentially eliminate the need for helpdesk support.

“We are very excited about this first major deal in Eastern Europe – a market with huge potential. DSC’s choice of Tilgin as partner confirms that our solution fulfils the three main requirements that customers today have on their customer premises equipment – high performance, full functionality and low operating cost,” says Björn von Haartman, Sales Director at Tilgin.
