May 29, 2007 Stockholm Sweden - Tilgin, a leader in customer premises equipment for triple play and IMS solutions, today announces a cooperation with SABO, the Tenants’ Association, the Swedish Federation of Property Owners, and the Swedish Urban Network Association on a project for an open base box environment - in other words, an open network for IPTV services that functions independently of the operator or supplier.

Tilgin has been approved to connect the open networks of SABO, the Tenants’ Association, the Swedish Federation of Property Owners, and the Swedish Urban Network Association.

SABO, the Tenants’ Association, the Swedish Federation of Property Owners, and the Swedish Urban Network Association are implementing open TV networks in different cities around Sweden. It is an open network and an open model for delivering services to households. The parties involved in the project – the urban networks and the residential companies - will introduce an open TV network rather than committing to one single operator or TV supplier. Examples of what could be available include TV services such as video-on-demand, gaming services, and other municipal or local services such as insurance.

“The cooperation and our connection shows the flexibility offered by Tilgin’s products now that we support both the Swedish open base box environment and the operators’ own environments,” says Tilgin’s CEO Jan Werne.

Through this collaboration Tilgin’s products can be used within the open TV-network at home independent of the end consumer’s choice of operator. Tilgin’s products are available for customers and members within SABO, the Tenants’ Association, the Swedish Federation of Property Owners, and the Swedish Urban Network Association. Tilgin’s products can also be used to access television and other open services in the home that adhere to the open base box standard.

SABO currently has 1 million households in its member register, and The Swedish Urban Network Association has approximately 600,000 households, many of which are also members in SABO. Currently about 20 different city networks over 4 areas in Sweden (Norrsken, 3S, Göteborg, and Landskrona) are ready to apply this environment.
