Stockholm, Sweden, 2 December 2008: Tilgin, a leading provider of solutions for multiplay and next-generation broadband services, today announces a new strategic order from a Southeastern European incumbent launching IP-services. The order is for Tilgin’s latest generation gateway solution and Tilgin’s VCM software as part of the operator's field trials.

This new field trial order will see Tilgin's home gateway product for Ethernet connectivity and Tilgin's service and device management software VCM, deployed in households in a new residential area in yet a new Southeastern European country for Tilgin. The order is the first step in the operator’s planned roll-out of IP technology. Delivery and system set-up are scheduled for December 2008 and the operator's ambition is to perform field trials and evaluations during the first half of 2009. The initial order value is limited.

Tilgin’s new customer is among Europe’s top 5 leading operators and among the world’s 15 largest for fixed telephony providing fixed and mobile telephony, data and Internet services. In its country this incumbent is the leading provider of fixed-line services with more than 17 million PSTN customers and approximately 5 million ADSL customers. With this order the southeastern European incumbent plans to expand its offering with VoIP and other IP services based on high speed Internet to its broadband subscribers (ADSL) and potentially also to its large fixed-line subscriber base.

“This is a strategic order for us, says Ola Berglund, CEO at Tilgin. “With this order we are now collaborating with several of the larger and most important telecom operators and former incumbents in Eastern Europe. We’ve won this order in collaboration with our local system integrator and this new customer is at the forefront and many other operators take after this prestigious telecom operator, which we hope will generate more new leads and sales opportunities for us in the region”.

The choice of Tilgin as IP supplier is based on two strong criteria’s from the operator; performance and the fully-routed functionality, allowing the operator to flexibly connect and service multiple IP units, PCs and other media devices in the home and thereby enabling the “connected digital home”.
