Tim Hortons[®] reaches 25 restaurant milestone in the UK

Tim Hortons®, the iconic Canadian coffee chain, has opened their 25th restaurant in the UK on Tuesday 10th December in Cumbernauld, Scotland.  

Boasting an estate of twenty-five restaurants, with seven drive-thrus, the brand ends 2019 on a high note having increased their estate by four in the last year.

Drive-thru restaurants now make up over one fifth of the company’s locations and represents a fast-growing part of the business. The format has proved continuously successful throughout the U.K. and allows increased access for customers to enjoy the Canadian iconic products throughout the day.

A new restaurant in Leicester city centre, the largest in the U.K. with over 150 seats for customers to relax and enjoy, was met with great excitement by the local community. Fans also travelled from London and beyond, keen to visit the new landmark location.

The Tim Hortons®  brand was founded by its namesake, a top professional ice hockey player, who wanted to create a space where everyone would feel at home. Fast forward to 2019, more than 5.3 million Canadians – approximately 15 per cent of the population – visit the cafés daily.

Tim Hortons® in the UK

In 2017, the iconic Canadian brand made its way to the United Kingdom, bringing premium coffee, freshly baked goods, delicious sandwiches & wraps, and other food products to Brits. The first restaurant opened on Argyle Street, Glasgow, in June 2017.

There are currently 25 restaurants in the UK with a flagship location in Leicester City Centre.
