Tin Drum Asiacafé to Double Size in 2012
Atlanta-based chain announces franchise opportunities, rapid restaurant openings
(ATLANTA) June 12th 2012 -- Atlanta-based restaurant chain Tin Drum Asiacafé announced today that it will double its size in 2012 as a result of five franchise agreements signed earlier this year and in late 2011. The chain, founded by restaurateur Steven Chan, now has already opened or has commitments to open six units in 2012 and eight more in the next few years.
Tin Drum is one of the few Pan Asian concepts to offer franchise opportunities in the hot and growing Asian segment. Edgy, urban, upbeat and lightning quick, Tin Drum reflects the bustling and delicious street food of owner Steven Chan’s childhood in Hong Kong.
The chain will begin its franchising efforts throughout the South and has targeted Tennessee, the Carolinas, Texas, and Florida. Limited franchising opportunities are also available in Georgia and Alabama.
“We opened our first Tin Drum at Georgia Tech’s Midtown campus in Atlanta to raving reviews and much demand,” said Chan. “We offer fresh to order meals at a reasonable price. Our plan is to double the size of Tin Drum in 2012 with additional units throughout Atlanta and in Athens, Augusta, Birmingham and throughout the Southeast.”
Chan, a Georgia Tech alumni and restaurant veteran, saw the opportunity to blend Asian flavors with the growing demand for fast, healthy options while relying on new technologies to deliver a distinct experience. Tin Drum restaurants use a leading-edge self-ordering system with health-based software that allow patrons to order based on individual dietary goals.
Tin Drum’s diverse menu features more than 35 items made with Thai, Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese and Indian influences and 15 proprietary sauces. Signature items include the Tin Drum curry and the addictive crab and cheese spring rolls – the chain sells approximately 3,000 spring rolls per week at its 10 existing restaurants. Tin Drum is certified by www.healthydiningfinder.com and offers guests a variety of menu options to manage their diets, including a gluten-free menu and vegetarian options.
Openings this year include the first Tin Drum Asiacafé in Augusta, Georgia, prime locations in the Chastain Park and Emory University areas of Atlanta. In 2012, Tin Drum will open three additional Atlanta-area restaurants in Colony Square and Roswell and in Athens. Other developments in the Southeast include one company-owned unit in Birmingham and expansion to Athens, Georgia in the fall of 2012.
