Splash proof, Dust Resistant, Shockproof, Wireless speaker with 5.5 hours of battery life

London, UK, 16th July – Maxell announce the immediate availability of the IKUtrax travel speaker. IKU means “to go” in Japanese, and the IKUtrax speaker is designed to go wherever you want to listen to your favourite music, from the shower, to the desert and everywhere in between.

This rugged little 5w speaker is dust proof, splash resistant (to IP55* standard), shockproof and can work under extreme temperatures, so it’s safe to take to the scorching hot beach or a damp, muddy campsite. Its built-in lithium-ion battery will give approximately 6 hours of music and can be fully charged in just 2.5 hours.

The IKUtrax speaker delivers a crisp and surprisingly powerful sound for its pocket size, and the inclusion of a passive radiator really strengthens its sound capabilities. The IKUtrax is only 120-x-60-x-60mm and weighs just 350g, making it a perfect travel companion whether heading to the seaside, campsite or a hotel.

Designed to work with most mobile devices, the IKUtrax streams via Bluetooth. Smartphones that feature NFC (Near Field Communication) can automatically pair with the IKUtrax. Simply tap the phone on the top of the speaker and they are paired, and ready to play. Other mobile devices need only select the speaker to pair it in the Bluetooth settings.

Not only perfect for playing your favourite tunes anywhere you are, the IKUtrax has a built-in microphone which also allows it to be used as a hands-free speakerphone. Incoming calls automatically turn down the music, to allow the telephone conversation.
