Tobii Dynavox launches I-110, the next generation speech generating touch device
Tobii Dynavox, the global leader in assistive technology for communication, announced today the introduction of the Tobii Dynavox I-110, its next generation Windows 10 touch-based speech generating device for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). The device is ideal for individuals who are non-verbal or have speech difficulties, with conditions such as autism, cerebral palsy, or Down syndrome.
The I-110 is a purpose-built speech generating device that breaks new ground in AAC technology. With its highly durable and water-resistant design, it offers fully integrated features such as powerful, outward facing speakers that project clear speech and sound in any environment, even when in a crowd or on a playground.
“The I-110 completes our portfolio in the segment for touch-based communication,” said Fredrik Ruben, President of Tobii Dynavox. “We can now offer our users a comprehensive range of products ranging from iOS or Windows apps, through the Indi speech tablet that is offered directly to consumers, to the medical grade I-110 tailored for the reimbursement market. With its range of first-class features and its outstanding durability, the I-110 is a more than worthy successor to our long-standing T-Series.”
The I-110 features a sleek and durable design. It has been drop-tested 5 feet (1.5m), has a water and dust resistant casing, and a battery life of 10+ hours of usage. It also includes Infrared (IR) capabilities for environmental controls, a built-in kickstand, and numerous compatible inputs beyond touch, including switch scanning, head-mouse, and touch with key guards.
The device comes with a full suite of Tobii Dynavox communication software pre-installed, including the industry leading Communicator 5 and Snap + Core First. These software solutions support the users at any point on their communication journey – from the emerging, symbol-based communicator all the way to the fully literate. Fully backed by an ecosystem of support and an extensive technical support warranty, the I-110 gives users the peace of mind and confidence to communicate whenever or wherever.
