Toivo Group Plc implements a day-care centre project in Espoo

Toivo Group Plc (“Company” or “Toivo”) has started the implementation of a day-care centre project in Leppävaara, Espoo. The day-care centre will have room for 33 children and the services will be provided by Pilke päiväkodit Oy (“Pilke”). Toivo and Pilke have signed a long-term lease agreement for the day-care centre building. The project will be executed according to class-A energy standards and the building will be heated by environmentally friendly geothermal energy. Pilke’s service provision is scheduled to start in autumn 2022.

“We’ve been looking for a day-care centre site that suits our operating concept in Leppävaara, Espoo, for some time now. There’s a growing demand for day-care places in the area, and we’re already accepting applications for places in the day-care centre, which will open in the autumn,” says Kai Seppälä, Strategic Director at Pilke.

Pilke will open the nature-oriented day-care centre Kaisla in August. In a nature-oriented day-care centre, children learn to have a positive attitude towards nature and a sustainable lifestyle. The children participate in a wide variety of outdoor activities, regardless of the weather. The activities focus on exploring and wondering at various natural phenomena, taking trips regularly and spending time in nature.

“Toivo was provided with an interesting opportunity to implement apartments and a day-care centre in the same group of projects. We’re first and foremost a housing operator, but we saw additional customer value in a project where a brand-new day-care centre is built next to family homes. We will provide more details about the housing project at a later stage, but we’re certainly looking at a novel and interesting apartment concept,” enthuses Toivo’s CEO Markus Myllymäki.
