A new Tokmanni store opens its doors in Rovaniemi – Tokmanni’s product range grows significantly in the city centre

Tokmanni is opening a new Tokmanni store in the Revontuli shopping centre in Rovaniemi city centre on Thursday 7 September 2023 at 9 am. The new store is more modern and has significantly more space and a wider selection of products than its predecessor. As usual, the store opening will feature special offers and free Tokmanni buckets filled with product gifts.

The Tokmanni store to be opened in the Revontuli shopping centre offers a diverse product range focusing on interior decoration, clothing, detergents and cleaning products, seasonal products and beauty, health and wellbeing. New features also include a Miny shop-in-shop department. Miny is a lifestyle brand launched by Tokmanni last year. It offers a diverse range of more than 1,000 beauty, wellbeing and interior decoration products and other surprising and interesting things to buy.

The new store will replace the Tokmanni store on Koskikatu in the city centre, which served customers until the beginning of August. The store has been designed in line with Tokmanni’s newest store concept, which emphasises convenient and pleasant shopping. The store has around 2,000 square metres of space, around twice as much as its predecessor.

Customer service at the Tokmanni store in the Revontuli shopping centre will be provided by around ten retail professionals under the leadership of Store Manager Marjo Korhonen. The store will serve customers with long opening hours: on weekdays from 9 am to 8 pm, on Saturdays from 9 am to 6 pm and on Sundays from 12 noon to 4 pm. The address of the store is Koskikatu 27 B, 96100 Rovaniemi.

There will be two Tokmanni stores in Rovaniemi, as the variety discount retailer has had a store in Eteläkeskus since 2014.

A wide range of services and a focus on energy choices

In addition to offering a pleasant shopping experience and comprehensive product selections, Tokmanni invests in services that make customers’ daily lives easier and in smart energy choices.

At all Tokmanni stores, customers can make purchases through the Tokmanni Tukku B2B sales function and as a member of the Tokmanni Klubi customer loyalty program. Customers can also pick up orders made through the Tokmanni online store and withdraw cash when paying at the checkout.

Tokmanni purchases only zero-emission electricity for its Tokmanni stores, and energy-efficient LED technology is used in the lighting of all Tokmanni stores. As is the case with numerous other Tokmanni stores, the store in the Revontuli shopping centre in Rovaniemi will have a recycling point for electrical and electronic equipment waste, where customers can bring their light bulbs, batteries and broken, small electrical appliances, such as shavers, kettles and electric toothbrushes.

Special offers and surprise buckets with product gifts

Tokmanni will celebrate the opening of its refurbished Tokmanni store in the Revontuli shopping centre in Rovaniemi with special offers that will run from Thursday 7 September to Sunday 10 September 2023. In addition, 500 of Tokmanni’s famous surprise buckets filled with product gifts will be handed out for free to the first customers at the opening on Thursday. Tokmanni gift cards worth EUR 50 have been hidden in two of the buckets.

At the opening of the new Tokmanni store on the morning of Thursday 7 September, the variety discount retailer will be represented by Mika Rautiainen, President and CEO, Timo Heimo, Vice President, Sales and Supply Chain, and Regional Manager Toni Kauttio, in addition to the store personnel.

Tokmanni stores offer an extremely wide range of products. This includes products related to the home and summer cottage, such as the storage, transport and disposable tableware items shown in the photo.

The Tokmanni Group’s network of stores will continue to grow and renew

In addition to the Rovaniemi store, Tokmanni has entered into agreements on opening new Tokmanni stores in Tiiriö in Hämeenlinna, and in Pälkäne, Eurajoki, Söderkulla in Sipoo and Kouvola. In Hämeenlinna, the new store will replace the Tokmanni store currently serving customers in Tiiriö.

The plan is to celebrate the opening of the new Tokmanni store in Tiiriö in Hämeenlinna in November this year. Construction work has started in Pälkäne, and the store opening is planned for next spring. The construction of the Tokmanni store in Eurajoki is scheduled to start next year, and the opening is planned for the autumn of 2024. The construction of the Tokmanni store in Söderkulla in Sipoo has started, and the opening of the store is planned for the spring of 2024. In Kouvola, the new store is scheduled to open its doors later this year.

The Click Shoes store chain, which is part of the Tokmanni Group, is also expanding its store network. The newest Click Shoes stores will open in the Willa shopping centre in Hyvinkää city centre in September or October and in the Trio shopping centre in Lahti city centre in late October.

Most recently, the Tokmanni store chain celebrated the opening of a new store in Konala, Helsinki, in May. In May, Tokmanni also opened stores dedicated to the Miny lifestyle brand, which was launched last year, in the Trio shopping centre in the heart of Lahti and next to the Tampere Central Square. Also in May, the Click Shoes store was opened in the Pasaati shopping centre in the centre of Kotka.

Earlier this year, Tokmanni expanded its Tokmanni stores in Pihtiputaa, in Ruoholahti in Helsinki and in the centre of Kuopio, and acquired the business operations of Jyskän Varastomyymälä Oy in Jyskä, Jyväskylä, and incorporated the store into the Tokmanni chain. Last spring, the Tokmanni Group acquired all the shares in the Click Shoes and Shoe House chains. In July, the Tokmanni Group announced that it would acquire Dollarstore, one of Sweden’s leading discount retailers. The transaction was completed on 1 August 2023. Dollarstore currently has 130 Dollarstore stores in Sweden and two Big Dollar stores in Denmark.

In Finland, Tokmanni has 200 Tokmanni stores (including the new Rovaniemi store), six Miny stores, 27 Click Shoes stores and two Shoe House stores.
