New Tokmanni store will open its doors in Konala in Helsinki – Ristikko shopping centre is home to Helsinki’s 12th and Helsinki Metropolitan Area’s 22nd Tokmanni

Tokmanni has another reason to celebrate in Helsinki as it will be opening its new store in Konala in the Ristikko shopping centre at 8 am on Wednesday 17 May 2023. Customers will find a varied range of products at Helsinki’s 12th Tokmanni – including products from the variety discount retailer’s Miny lifestyle brand. As usual, the store opening will include special offers and free surprise buckets filled with product gifts.

Tokmanni will offer a product range that perfectly meets the needs of its customers in the Konala area, with a focus on interior decoration, clothing, detergents and cleaning products, seasonal products, and beauty, health and wellbeing products.

A shop-in-shop department dedicated to the Miny lifestyle brand launched by Tokmanni last year will also strengthen the product offering at the Konala store. The store will feature a Miny product range with more than 1,000 beauty, wellbeing and interior decoration products and other surprising and interesting things to buy.

The store designed in line with Tokmanni’s newest store concept, which emphasises convenient and pleasant shopping, has around 2,050 square metres of space.

“It is great to be able to expand Tokmanni’s store network to Konala in Helsinki. The Ristikko shopping centre is located in an excellent retail site at the intersection of Vihdintie and the Kehä I ring road, in the middle of a varied store and service hub,” says Timo Heimo, Vice President, Sales and Supply Chain at Tokmanni.

Once the Konala store has been opened, Tokmanni will have 12 Tokmanni stores in Helsinki and 22 in various locations in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area. The newest Tokmanni store in Espoo was opened in the Lippulaiva shopping centre in the Greater Espoonlahti area last year. The title of newest Tokmanni in Vantaa is held by a store opened in the Myyrmanni shopping centre in Myyrmäki in 2020. The opening of a new Tokmanni store in Helsinki was most recently celebrated in Kontula in November last year. In addition to the stores bearing Tokmanni's name, Tokmanni currently has two Miny stores, one Shoe House store and three Click Shoes stores in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area.

Wide range of services and focus on energy choices

In addition to offering a pleasant shopping experience and comprehensive product assortments, Tokmanni invests in services that make the daily life of customers easier and in smart energy choices.

At all Tokmanni stores, customers can make purchases through the Tokmanni Tukku B2B sales function and as a member of the Tokmanni Klubi customer loyalty program. Customers can also pick up orders made through the Tokmanni online store and withdraw cash when paying at the checkout.

Tokmanni purchases only zero-emission electricity for its locations, and energy-efficient LED technology is used in the lighting of all Tokmanni stores. As is the case with numerous other Tokmanni stores, the store in Konala will also have a recycling point for electrical and electronic equipment waste, where customers can bring their light bulbs, batteries and broken, small electrical appliances, such as shavers, kettles and electric toothbrushes.

The Tokmanni in Konala will employ store manager Aleksi Hakanen and 14 other retail sector professionals. The store will serve its customers with long opening hours: on weekdays from 8 am to 9 pm, on Saturdays from 8 am to 8 pm and on Sundays from 10 am to 7 pm. Special offers and surprise buckets with product gifts

Tokmanni will celebrate the opening of its new store in the Ristikko shopping centre with special offers that will be available from Wednesday 17 May to Sunday 21 May 2023. In addition, 1,000 of Tokmanni’s famous surprise buckets filled with product gifts will be handed out for free to the first customers at the opening on Wednesday. A Tokmanni gift card worth EUR 100 has been hidden in two of the buckets.

At the opening of the Konala store on Wednesday morning on 17 May 2023, the variety discount retailer will be represented by Mika Rautiainen, President and CEO, Harri Koponen, Vice President, Store Network and Concept, and Jyrki Jääskeläinen, Regional Manager, in addition to the store personnel.

Tokmanni stores offer an extremely wide range of products. This includes products related to the home and summer cottage, such as the storage, transport and disposable tableware shown in the photo.

Tokmanni’s store network is growing and renewing

In addition to the opening of the new store in the Ristikko shopping centre in Konala, Tokmanni has entered into agreements on the opening of new stores in the Revontuli shopping centre in the centre of Rovaniemi and Tiiriö in Hämeenlinna. It has also entered into agreements on the opening of Miny stores in the Trio shopping centre in the centre of Lahti and the Keskustori central square in Tampere and on a significant expansion of its Tokmanni store in the Ruoholahti shopping centre in Ruoholahti in Helsinki. The new stores in Rovaniemi and Hämeenlinna will replace the Tokmanni stores currently serving in the centre of Rovaniemi and in Tiiriö in Hämeenlinna. The plan is to celebrate the opening of the new Tokmanni store in Rovaniemi at the end of August this year, and the new store in Tiiriö in October–November this year. In Tampere, the Miny store will be opened on 17 May. In Lahti, the opening of the Miny store will be celebrated on 25 May. In Ruoholahti in Helsinki, Tokmanni aims to carry out the expansion of the store by the end of August.

Tokmanni is also aiming to refurbish several of its stores around Finland in 2023. In February, Tokmanni also announced that it would be acquiring the entire share capital of the Finnish footwear store chains Click Shoes Oy and Shoe House Oy. Ownership of the companies transferred to Tokmanni at the beginning of March 2023. Click Shoes most recently celebrated a store opening earlier in May at the Pasaati shopping centre in Kotka.
