TEX chain store in Rovaniemi to become a Tokmanni

Tokmanni will open its TEX chain store as a remodelled Tokmanni store in the centre of Rovaniemi on Thursday, 21 March 2019 at 10.00 am. The opening of the store, which has been part of Tokmanni since the beginning of this year, will be celebrated with special offers and buckets containing surprises.
The remodelled store is located in the familiar location at Koskikatu 28, 96100 Rovaniemi. The store’s floor area (selling space) is roughly 700 square metres and it offers a compact but versatile assortment of cosmetics, seasonal and organic products and home consumer goods, such as household items, home textiles and home electronics.
As always at Tokmanni, the store in the centre of Rovaniemi focuses on offering a quick and easy shopping experience. To align it with Tokmanni’s brand, the general visual appearance and customer experience of the store has been upgraded with signage and shop furniture. In addition, as with all Tokmanni stores, items bought from Tokmanni.fi can be picked up from the store.
“We are very happy with our remodelled store. Under the uniform Tokmanni brand we can offer our customers an assortment of products that they find relevant, with low prices, and a pleasant shopping experience in the centre of Rovaniemi,” says Mathias Kivikoski, Tokmanni’s Sales and Marketing Director.
The store, managed by Olga Kervinen, Store Manager, will be open on weekdays from 10 to 18 and on Saturdays from 10 to 16. The store will be closed due to remodelling from 11 March to 20 March 2019.
From the opening day in Thursday until Saturday the Tokmanni in the centre of Rovaniemi will be full of special offers. And as usual at Tokmanni openings, the first customers will receive free buckets filled with product gifts. In the opening morning, 200 surprise buckets will be handed out at the store.
From that day forward, there will be two Tokmanni stores in Rovaniemi as the discount chain has had a store in the Eteläkeskus shopping centre since 2014.
Tokmanni’s chain will continue to grow and renew
Tokmanni’s target is to increase its store chain to more than 200 stores and to add a net of 12,000 square metres of new retail space every year, which means around five new or relocated stores. Currently, Tokmanni has 189 stores around Finland.
The first half of 2019 will be a very busy period because in addition to the store opening in Rovaniemi, the discount chain will open a new store in Tesoma in Tampere, expand its store in Turenki, move to new premises in Hanko and Juuka and open the eight Ale-Makasiini chain stores it acquired late last year under the Tokmanni name. In the near future, also during the first half of this year, the TEX chain stores in Sodankylä and Kemijärvi, now owned by Tokmanni, will also be opened under the Tokmanni brand. In addition, in mid-March Tokmanni centralised all of its store operations in Siilinjärvi to the Tokmanni store that has been in operation in the town for a long time by closing the Ale-Makasiini located nearby.
During the autumn Tokmanni will expand its store network to two new locations, Vääksy and Virrat.¹)
