Tokmanni acquires store in Pudasjärvi and expands its store network to Aura

Tokmanni, Finland’s largest discount retailer chain, acquired the business of the Perhemarket Pertti Heikkinen Ky store in Pudasjärvi with a contract signed on 31 January 2020. Tokmanni has also agreed on the opening of a new store in the centre of Aura. The store in Aura will be opened in May this year. The store in Pudasjärvi will be remodelled into a Tokmanni store during the summer.

The business acquired in Pudasjärvi is located at the address Pietarilantie 48, 93100 Pudasjärvi. The acquired business will transfer to the ownership of Tokmanni on 1 April 2020 and the store will be transformed into a Tokmanni store during the coming summer.

The Pudasjärvi store is in a practically new retail building in an excellent location by the road between Oulu and Kuusamo near the centre of Pudasjärvi. The personnel of the acquired store will transfer to Tokmanni. The store, which is approximately 2,500 square metres, is well-established in Pudasjärvi and known for its wide product assortment. Tokmanni aims to expand the store’s current product assortment and to offer customers an even more diverse and interesting selection of products at Tokmanni’s familiar discount prices.

The Pudasjärvi store is geographically very well located in relation to Tokmanni’s other stores and complements the Tokmanni store network in northern Finland. As a result of the acquisition, Tokmanni will have 14 stores in North Ostrobothnia.

“The new Tokmanni in Pudasjärvi will supplement Tokmanni's service network well and will support Tokmanni's target to increase its store network to cover more than 200 stores in Finland. This acquisition will take the number of Tokmanni stores to 192. Our brick-and-mortar stores and online store will together be able to provide an even better service to our customers throughout Finland,” says Tokmanni’s Store Network and Concept Director, Harri Koponen.

Tokmanni in Aura complements store network in Southwest Finland

The Tokmanni store in Aura, which is approximately 2,500 square metres, will be located in the currently vacant retail space in the centre of the municipality at Huuskantie 19, 21380 Aura.

Aura's new store will complement Tokmanni's extensive store network in Southwest Finland. The store in Aura will take the number of Tokmanni stores in Southwest Finland to 20. Tokmanni will employ approximately 15 people in Aura.
