Tokmanni buys Jyskän Varastomyymälä store in Jyväskylä

Tokmanni has acquired the business of Jyskän Varastomyymälä Oy in Jyskä, Jyväskylä. Jyskän Varastomyymälä is a traditional variety discount retail store and is currently celebrating its 37th anniversary. The total revenue of the acquired business was EUR 7.2 million in the financial period ending in February 2022. Tokmanni will take control of the store’s business operations as of 1 January 2023, and the store will be remodelled to become a Tokmanni store during 2023.
The Jyskän Varastomyymälä store is located at Vaajakoskentie 97, 40420 Jyskä. The store has a surface area of about 5,500 square metres and some 20 employees. The store’s current personnel will transfer to Tokmanni as existing employees.
Jyskän Varastomyymälä is widely known in the area. The store currently sells around different 70,000 products.

The store building was extended in 2011 and it has a parking area for around 80 cars. Tokmanni will immediately start planning the renovation of the store. Tokmanni's aim is to bring the store’s business operations in line with the Tokmanni brand and concept during 2023.
Tokmanni already has two Tokmanni stores in Jyväskylä, one in Seppälänkangas and the other in the Forum Jyväskylä shopping centre in the heart of the city. There is also a Tokmanni store in Laukaa, some 20 kilometres from Jyväskylä. Tokmanni has also signed an agreement on the opening of a new store in the Keljo store district. There is also a dedicated store of Tokmanni's lifestyle brand Miny in the Forum Jyväskylä shopping centre.
Tokmanni’s chain will continue to grow and renew
Expanding the store network is one of the ways to increase Tokmanni’s revenue and profit. Tokmanni has an efficient process of establishing and launching new stores. Tokmanni’s target is to expand its store network to include more than 220 stores in Finland by the end of 2025. At the end of October, there were 198 Tokmanni stores.
