Tokmanni Group is renewing its store network – Tokmanni store to relocate in Kuopio next year

Kuopio will get a new Tokmanni store next year. The current store on Volttikatu will be closed as a new store opens in the Haapaniemi district. The photo above is from the Tokmanni store in Järvenpää.

Tokmanni variety discount retail chain has entered into an agreement to open a new store in a business centre to be built in the Haapaniemi district of Kuopio, at Teollisuuskatu 1, 70620 Kuopio.

The new Tokmanni store, approximately 5,000 square meters in size, will replace the current Tokmanni store on Volttikatu in Kuopio, which has served its customers for a long time and is located around two kilometres away. Store operations at the current Volttikatu store will end when the new Tokmanni store opens, estimated to be in November 2027. Tokmanni employees of the Volttikatu store will be offered the opportunity to transfer to the new store as so-called “old employees”.

The new store will make Tokmanni’s store network in Kuopio modern and diverse. The variety discount retailer currently has four Tokmanni stores in Kuopio. In addition to the Volttikatu store, customers are served at shopping centre Vihtori in the city centre, at shopping centre Kolmisoppi in the Neulalampi district, and in Nilsiä, which was merged into Kuopio in 2013. Of these, the Tokmanni store at Kolmisoppi shopping centre opened in 2015, and the city centre store in 2016. Furthermore, in November last year, Tokmanni relocated to a completely new store building in Nilsiä.

Our new store in the new retail building will provide an excellent setting for enhancing the customer experience,” says Harri Koponen. Tokmanni Group’s store network continues to grow and renew

Tokmanni Group owns the Tokmanni variety discount retail chain as well as the Click Shoes shoe store chain and the Shoe House shoe store in Finland, the Dollarstore variety discount retail chain in Sweden, and the Big Dollar variety discount retail chain in Denmark. Six of the Tokmanni stores serve their customers as Tokmanni-EUROSPAR store entities. In Finland, the Group also serves its customers through its Tokmanni and Click Shoes online stores.

Tokmanni Group has announced that it will open several new stores in Finland, Sweden and Denmark this year as well. Of the new stores already announced, there will be one new Tokmanni store: the store opening in Kivistö in Vantaa will be celebrated towards the end of this year. In Suolahti, Tokmanni will close its store next autumn. Tokmanni currently has 208 stores across Finland.
