Tokmanni Group’s Click Shoes shoe store chain expands its store network to Jyväskylä

The Click Shoes shoe store chain, which joined Tokmanni Group last year, will expand its store chain with a store opening in the Forum Jyväskylä shopping centre in the heart of Jyväskylä city, Finland. The new Click Shoes store will replace a store of the Miny lifestyle brand, which is also part of Tokmanni Group. Miny store will be closing its doors for the last time in mid-August. The Click Shoes store opening is estimated to be celebrated at the end of September this year.

The Click Shoes shoe store chain will take over the store premises of slightly less than 300 square metres, located on the third floor of the Forum Jyväskylä shopping centre.

In accordance with the Click Shoes concept, the new store will sell footwear from many international brands, such as Skechers, Rieker, Musse&Cloud, Bugatti, Tamaris, and Jana. The store will also have a wide range of products from 2Moons, the private label created by Click Shoes, as well as shoe care and maintenance products from Springyard.

In Jyväskylä, the arrival of Click Shoes has been really awaited, says Hanna Ahola, Managing Director of the shoes store chain.

– Based on the large amount of customer wishes, there is a clear demand for a versatile shoe store in Jyväskylä. For a long time, we have been looking for store premises in the city that are suitable for us in terms of size, location and cost level. Now we have found it, and we are very happy to start selling shoes also in Jyväskylä, a city with a population of around 150,000, she says.

– Next, we start furnishing our new store for the grand opening. Our tasks also include, for example, recruiting of three or four service-oriented employees who are interested in selling footwear, she adds.

Tokmanni Group currently has 31 Click Shoes stores and one Shoe House store. The number of Shoe House stores will increase again to two, when the recently closed store in the Jumbo-Flamingo entertainment and shopping centre in Vantaa will move to a new stores premises. The new store, which is significantly larger than its predecessor, will be opened in the entertainment and shopping centre next week. Shoes from the Click Shoes’ footwear assortment are also sold not only in Click Shoes’ own online store, but also in Tokmanni’s online store and in Click Shoes’ shop-in-shop departments in around 140 Tokmanni stores.

The Miny store that has been serving its customers in the store premises of the upcoming Click Shoes store will be closed in mid-August. However, Miny products can still be bought also in Jyväskylä, as a Miny shop-in-shop department was opened in the Tokmanni store in Seppälänkangas in Jyväskylä only about half a year ago, when the expansion of the Tokmanni store was completed.

– From now on, we are investing heavily in our Miny shop-in-shop departments. This shop-in-shop concept already serves our customers in more than 40 Tokmanni stores and has already shown its strength at this stage, says Minna Wegelius, Head of Non-Food at Tokmanni.

– We are constantly developing Miny’s concept and product offering, and we are planning to open new Miny shop-in-shop departments. On the other hand, we also take into account such new store premises that could be suitable for our lifestyle brand, she adds.
