Tokmanni has refurbished and expanded its stores in Seppälänkangas in Jyväskylä and in the centre of Lohja – Special offers and surprise buckets with product gifts will be available at the openings

Tokmanni will open its refurbished and expanded stores in Seppälänkangas in Jyväskylä and in the centre of Lohja. Plenty of special offers and surprise buckets with product gifts will be available at the openings. The store opening will be held in Jyväskylä on Thursday 29 February 2024 at 8 am and in Lohja on Thursday 7 March 2024 at 9 am.
The total area of the Tokmanni store in Seppälänkangas in Jyväskylä remains unchanged at around 5,700 square metres, but around 450 square metres of storage space has been converted into an area for products to be sold. The Tokmanni store in the centre of Lohja has been expanded by around 250 square metres. The store now has a total area of around 1,550 square metres.
Thanks to the additional space, both of these stores have been able to add new products to their selections. The Tokmanni store in Seppälänkangas in Jyväskylä now offers an even wider selection of non-perishable foods and products related to the home, for example. The store in the centre of Lohja has a wider selection of shoes, among other products.
Both stores will also have a shop-in-shop department dedicated to the Miny lifestyle brand launched by Tokmanni in 2022. The Miny product range includes more than 1,000 beauty, wellbeing and interior decoration products and other surprising and interesting things to buy. Similar shop-in-shop departments can already be found in around 40 Tokmanni stores across Finland.
In addition, changes have been made in both stores in line with Tokmanni’s newest store concept, which supports quick and easy shopping. These include, for example, more comprehensive signage and a revised store layout. In Seppälänkangas in Jyväskylä, customer service has also been enhanced by adding an information desk and renovating the garden department in connection with the store.

In Jyväskylä and Lohja, many of our customers have requested products from our Miny lifestyle brand range, for example. Store Manager Vanamo Santala and her team of around 20 retail professionals are responsible for customer service at the Tokmanni store in Seppälänkangas in Jyväskylä. The Lohja team consists of Store Manager Amanda Jutila and around ten Tokmanni employees.
The address of the Tokmanni store in Seppälänkangas is Sorastajantie 1, 40320 Jyväskylä. In the centre of Lohja, Tokmanni serves customers at Kauppakatu 10–12, 08100 Lohja. The Tokmanni store in Seppälänkangas is open from 8 am to 8 pm on weekdays, from 9 am to 7 pm on Saturdays, and from 10 am to 6 pm on Sundays. In the centre of Lohja, the Tokmanni store is open from 9 am to 7 pm on weekdays, from 10 am to 6 pm on Saturdays, and from 12 noon to 6 pm on Sundays.
The stores have been open throughout the expansion and refurbishment.
The opening of the Tokmanni store in Seppälänkangas in Jyväskylä will be celebrated on Thursday morning 29 February 2024. In addition to the store personnel, Tokmanni will be represented at the opening ceremony by Timo Heimo, Vice President, Sales and Supply Chain, and Regional Manager Nina Laukkanen. The Tokmanni store in the centre of Lohja will be opened on Thursday morning 7 March 2024 by Timo Heimo and Regional Manager Tuomo Pekkala, along with the store personnel.
The Miny lifestyle brand, which Tokmanni launched in 2022, has a shop-in-shop department in around 40 Tokmanni stores, including the stores in Seppälänkangas in Jyväskylä and in the centre of Lohja. A recycling point and a host of other smart choices
Tokmanni stores offer a range of smart energy choices and services that make customers’ daily lives easier. The Tokmanni stores in Seppälänkangas in Jyväskylä and in the centre of Lohja have handy recycling points for customers’ discarded batteries and small electrical appliances such as coffee machines, shavers, electric toothbrushes and light bulbs.
Tokmanni uses modern LED lighting and other means to ensure energy efficiency. Waste is minimised by optimising product order volumes and deliveries, for example. In addition, food products that are about to expire are sold at substantial discounts.
In all Tokmanni stores, customers can also make purchases through the Tokmanni Tukku B2B sales function and the Tokmanni Klubi customer loyalty program. Customers can also pick up orders made through the Tokmanni online store and withdraw cash when paying at the checkout.
Tokmanni’s popular loyalty programme, Tokmanni Klubi, has more than three million members. Its loyal customer benefits are also available in the Tokmanni stores in Jyväskylä and Lohja.
Special offers and surprise buckets with product gifts
Tokmanni celebrates the opening of its expanded and refurbished stores with a wide range of special offers. In Seppälänkangas in Jyväskylä, the opening offers will be valid from Thursday 29 February to Sunday 3 March 2024. In the centre of Lohja, the opening offers will be revealed closer to the opening ceremonies and valid from Thursday 7 March to Sunday 10 March 2024.
In addition, both stores will give away Tokmanni’s famous surprise buckets filled with various product gifts to the first 500 customers on the day of the opening. In both stores, two of the surprise buckets will also contain a EUR 50 gift card.
The Tokmanni Group’s network of stores will continue to grow and renew
Tokmanni has entered into agreements on opening new Tokmanni stores in Pälkäne, in Eurajoki and in Söderkulla and Nikkilä in Sipoo. The construction of the Tokmanni stores in Pälkäne and in Söderkulla in Sipoo is underway, and the store openings are planned for the spring of 2024. The construction of the Tokmanni store in Eurajoki has also started, and the opening is planned for the autumn of 2024. In Nikkilä in Sipoo, the construction of the Tokmanni store is scheduled to start in the spring, and Tokmanni aims to celebrate the opening of the store later this year. The Tokmanni store chain celebrated its latest store opening in December in Katajaharju in Kouvola.
In addition to the above, Tokmanni will refurbish several of its stores this year. For example, Tokmanni is currently renovating its store in the Elovainio business centre in Ylöjärvi. Last autumn, the Tokmanni Group entered into an agreement with Terttu and Jaakko Pirtinaho’s Mutalan Kauppa Oy on the acquisition of the business operations of the Villen Kauppa grocery store in the business centre. Tokmanni acquired the business at the beginning of this year. The operations of Villen Kauppa will be merged into the Tokmanni store in the business centre in early 2024.
In Finland, the Tokmanni Group includes the Tokmanni variety discount retail chain, the Click Shoes and Shoe House shoe chains, and the Miny lifestyle brand. Currently, the Tokmanni variety discount retail chain has 201 stores, Click Shoes has 28 stores, Shoe House has two stores and Miny has six stores in Finland. This spring, in addition to the Tokmanni stores mentioned above, the number of stores in Finland will increase in at least the Click Shoes chain, which will open a new shoe store in the Koskikeskus shopping centre in the heart of Tampere by the end of April. In Finland, Tokmanni Group also serves its customers through the Tokmanni and Click Shoes online stores.
The Tokmanni Group also owns the Swedish Dollarstore discount retail chain. Dollarstore currently has 130 Dollarstore stores in Sweden and four Big Dollar stores in Denmark. The next Dollarstore store will be opened in Uddevalla, Sweden at the end of March this year. In Denmark, the next Bigdollar store opening will be celebrated in Frederikshavn at the end of May this year.
