Tokmanni in Pihtipudas has expanded by more than a third – Thousands of new products and low prices on offer

Customers will find thousands of new products and low prices in the centre of Pihtipudas, where Tokmanni has been extensively remodelling and expanding its store over the past weeks. The opening will be celebrated at the store from Thursday 2 March to Sunday 5 March 2023 with opening offers. Customers will also be able to enjoy coffee and cake at the Pihtipudas store on Saturday 4 March from 10 am to 3 pm.
The Tokmanni store in Pihtipudas has undergone significant remodelling to bring it in line with the variety discount retailer’s store concept that supports quick and easy shopping. This includes the addition of an information desk and signage, as well as updating the checkout area and the layout of product categories. The store has been expanded by some 450 square metres, increasing its size to around 1 500 square metres.
The expansion has increased the previously compact product range of the Tokmanni store in Pihtipudas by thousands of new products. In line with customer wishes, tools and products related to fishing and other leisure activities have been added to the assortment. In addition, the food department’s assortment has been expanded with products such as flour and tinned products.
Customer service at the Tokmanni in Pihtipudas will continue to be provided by Store Manager Mia Rossi and her team of around ten retail sector professionals.
“We are very pleased with the updates made to the store in Pihtipudas. Our local customers have been asking for more product options and we were happy to take the opportunity to increase our assortment by expanding our store,” says Tokmanni’s Vice President, Sales and Supply Chain Timo Heimo.
“The store has been updated in accordance with Tokmanni’s newest store concept, which emphasises a convenient shopping experience. The remodelling and the larger product assortment in particular, have raised the store’s customer experience to a new level,” he says.
The store in Pihtipudas is a former Ale-Makasiini chain store, which became part of Tokmanni in 2018 and was remodelled into a Tokmanni store the following year. The store serves its customers at the address Asematie 9, 44800 Pihtipudas on weekdays from 8 am to 8 pm, on Saturdays from 8 am to 6 pm, and on Sundays from 11 am to 6 pm. The store has been open throughout the expansion and remodelling.
Tokmanni will celebrate the opening of its expanded and remodelled store with a variety of special offers that will be available from the opening on Thursday 2 March 2023 to the end of the week. Coffee and cake will also be served to customers on Saturday 4 March 2023 from 10 am to 3 pm.
Tokmanni’s popular customer loyalty programme, Tokmanni Klubi, which already has around 2 million members, and its club benefits will also have a visible role at the Tokmanni store in Pihtipudas.
New recycling point and plenty of other smart choices
The Tokmanni store in Pihtipudas now has a convenient recycling point where customers can bring their light bulbs, batteries and small electrical appliances, such as shavers, kettles and electric toothbrushes.
Tokmanni also uses building automation and modern LED lighting to ensure energy efficiency. Tokmanni minimises waste by optimising order volumes and deliveries, for example, and by selling food products that are about to expire at significant discounts.
As in the other Tokmanni stores, customers can make their purchases at the Pihtipudas store as Tokmanni Tukku corporate customers and members of the Tokmanni Klubi customer loyalty program. Customers can also pick up orders made through the Tokmanni online store and withdraw cash when paying at the checkout.
Tokmanni’s chain of stores will continue to grow and renew
Tokmanni has entered into agreements on the opening of new stores in Konala in Helsinki, Söderkulla in Sipoo and Keljo district in Jyväskylä. The opening of the new store in Konala will be celebrated in the spring, and the new stores in Söderkulla and Keljo are expected to be opened during the current year.
Tokmanni is also aiming to refurbish several of its stores around Finland in 2023. Earlier in February, Tokmanni also announced that it had entered into an agreement on acquiring the entire share capital of the Finnish footwear store chains Click Shoes Oy and Shoe House Oy. Ownership of the companies will be transferred to Tokmanni on 1 March 2023.
Tokmanni aims to expand its store network in Finland to more than 220 Tokmanni stores by the end of 2025.
