Tokmanni is opening a new store in Kouvola

Tokmanni aims to renovate the facility to enable the long-term operation of the Tokmanni store in the property. In addition, Tokmanni plans to build a garden department of around 500 square metres in connection with the store.

“The new, spacious Tokmanni store and the garden department will offer a very diverse range of products to the residents of the Kouvola region and other people visiting the retail park,” says Harri Koponen, Director, Store Network and Concept at Tokmanni.

“Our goal is to start renovating the store in August and open a new store in Kouvola by the end of this year.”

The Tokmanni store to be opened on Tommolankatu will employ around 20 retail professionals in Kouvola.

The new store will be Tokmanni’s fourth store in Kouvola, a town of around 80,000 people. The three other Tokmanni stores in Kouvola serve customers in Torninmäki, Inkeroinen and Kuusankoski. The Tokmanni store in the neighbouring municipality of Iiitti is located around twenty kilometres from the new store.

Tokmanni’s store network is growing and renewing

Tokmanni has entered into agreements on opening new stores in the Revontuli shopping centre in the centre of Rovaniemi, in Tiiriö in Hämeenlinna, in Pälkäne, in Eurajoki and in Sipoo. In addition, the Tokmanni store in the Ruoholahti shopping centre in Helsinki will be expanded significantly. The new stores in Rovaniemi and Hämeenlinna will replace the Tokmanni stores currently serving customers in the centre of Rovaniemi and in Tiiriö in Hämeenlinna.

The plan is to celebrate the opening of the new Tokmanni store in Rovaniemi at the beginning of September this year, and the new store in Tiiriö in Hämeenlinna in November this year. In Pälkäne, Tokmanni aims to start the construction of the new store building immediately after obtaining a building permit. The construction of the Tokmanni store in Eurajoki is scheduled to start next year, and the opening is planned for the autumn of 2024. The construction of the Tokmanni store in Sipoo will start in late summer, and the opening is planned for the spring of 2024. In Ruoholahti in Helsinki, Tokmanni aims to complete the expansion of its store by the end of August this year.

Tokmanni celebrated its latest store opening in Konala, Helsinki, in May. In May, Tokmanni also opened stores dedicated to the Miny lifestyle brand, which was launched last year, in the Trio shopping centre in the heart of Lahti and next to the Tampere Central Square, in addition to a Click Shoes store in the Pasaati shopping centre in the centre of Kotka. Earlier this year, Tokmanni also expanded its store in Pihtiputaa, and acquired the business operations of Jyskän Varastomyymälä Oy in Jyskä, Jyväskylä, and incorporated the store into the Tokmanni chain.

Tokmanni currently has 200 Tokmanni stores, six Miny stores, 28 Click Shoes stores and two Shoe House stores across Finland.

Tokmanni aims to expand its store network in Finland to more than 220 Tokmanni stores by the end of 2025.
