Tokmanni, a variety discount retail chain will open its expanded and completely refurbished store in Kangasala on Thursday 14 November 2024 at 8:00 a.m. The store opening, which will be celebrated together with customers, will feature not only plenty of opening offers, but also surprise buckets filled with product gifts. As a result of the expansion and refurbishment, the Kangasala store’s product assortment has grown, and the shopping experience has improved significantly.

The expanded and refurbished Kangasala store features Tokmanni’s newest store concept, which emphasises convenient and pleasant shopping experience. To enhance the customer experience, the shelf layout and display of products and product categories have been renewed, and customer signage has been improved. The store now also has one more checkout point than before.

Thanks to the expansion, the store now has approximately 5,500 square metres of space, which is almost 1,200 square metres more than before. The product assortment now includes even more, for example, interior textiles, tools, and products related to health and wellbeing than before.

The product range has been supplemented, according to customer wishes, also with enough Miny products to fill an entire shop-in-shop department. The Miny lifestyle brand’s assortments include a diverse range of beauty, wellbeing and interior decoration products and other surprising and interesting things to buy. Similar shop-in-shop departments can already be found in more than 40 Tokmanni stores across Finland.

Already in the past, the Tokmanni store in Kangasala has offered a comprehensive selection of products related to, for example, interior decoration, clothing, detergents and cleaning products, home improvement, various seasons and beauty, health and wellbeing. In addition, the Kangasala store continues to have a shop-in-shop department of the Click Shoes shoe chain, which is part of Tokmanni Group.

“The goal of the store expansion and refurbishment in our Kangasala store has been both to improve the general shopping experience and to supplement the product selections in accordance with the wishes of our customers,” says Timo Heimo, Vice President, Sales and Supply Chain at Tokmanni.

“We think that our refurbishments at Kangasala have been very successful, and we believe that our Tokmanni, which is now even better than before, will also please our customers,” he adds.

Customer service at the Tokmanni store in Kangasala is provided by a team of around 30 retail professionals led by Store Manager Nina Koskinen. The store is open on weekdays from 8 am to 9 pm, on Saturdays from 8 am to 8 pm and on Sundays from 10 am to 6 pm. The store, which is located at the address Mäkirinteentie 4, 36220 Kangasala, has been open throughout the refurbishment work.

Convenient services and smart energy choices

In addition to offering a comprehensive and affordable product assortment and a pleasant shopping experience, Tokmanni focuses on services that make customers’ daily lives easier and on smart energy choices. At Tokmanni stores, customers can make purchases through the Tokmanni Tukku B2B sales function and the Tokmanni Klubi customer loyalty program. Customers can also pick up orders made through the Tokmanni online store and conveniently withdraw cash when paying at the checkout.

The variety discount retailer purchases fossil-free electricity for its Tokmanni stores and uses energy-efficient LED lightning. In addition, already since 2021, the Kangasala store has had its own solar power plant. The solar energy produced with the help of solar panels installed on the roof of the store building can cover an average of around 15 to 20 percent of the annual electricity need of the store. In total, there are already almost 70 solar power plants in Tokmanni’s own use around Finland.

Opening offers and surprise buckets with product gifts in true Tokmanni style

Tokmanni will celebrate its expanded and refurbished store in Kangasala with generous opening offers. The opening offers will be valid in the Kangasala store from Thursday 14 November to Sunday 17 November 2024. In addition, 500 of the Tokmanni’s famous surprise buckets filled with product gifts will be handed out for free to the first customers in Kangasala on the day of the opening on Thursday 14 November. Two of the surprise buckets will also contain a EUR 50 gift card.

More store openings to come this year

In Finland, Tokmanni Group currently has 201 Tokmanni stores, three Miny stores, 33 Click Shoes stores, two Shoe House stores, and online stores tokmanni.fi and clickshoes.fi.

On Thursday 14 November at 8:00 am, Tokmanni celebrates not only in Kangasala but also in Eurajoki, a municipality of more than 9,000 inhabitants. The first Tokmanni store in Eurajoki municipality, and at the same time the 202nd Tokmanni store in Finland, will open its doors in a completely new commercial building. The new Eurajoki store has about 2,750 square metres of space.

In addition to the Eurajoki store, new Tokmanni stores will be celebrated in the Entresse shopping centre in Espoo, Nikkilä in Sipoo and Sodankylä this year. In Espoo, the new store will replace the current Tokmanni store in the Espoontori shopping centre, in the immediate vicinity of the Entresse shopping centre. Due to the new store, the current Tokmanni store in Sodankylä will also be closed soon.

Tokmanni Group also owns the Swedish discount retailer Dollarstore. Dollarstore currently has more than 130 Dollarstore stores in Sweden and five Big Dollar stores in Denmark. The latest new Dollarstore store opened its doors in Karlstad in September this year. The latest new Big Dollar store was opened in Frederikshavn in May this year. New Dollarstore stores will be celebrated next in the Strömpilen shopping area in Umeå and in Burlöv municipality in late November. In addition, new Big Dollar stores will be celebrated next in Randers and Grena (or Grenå) in late November.
