Tokmanni to expand its store in Kuusamo – thousands of new products added to assortment

Tokmanni, Finland's largest variety discount retailer, is expanding its store in Kuusamo by approximately 500 square metres by taking into use the business premises next door to its store. In addition, the store will be refurbished and remodelled to correspond with Tokmanni’s latest store concept. The store will offer its customers thousands of new, interesting and low-priced products from product groups in the household, home decoration, leisure and home improvement categories.
The expansion work will begin in early 2022 at the approximately 4,000-square-metre store in Kuusamo, and the aim is to complete the renewal during this winter.
“Our customers in Kuusamo have been asking for an even wider assortment than we have now. The expansion of the assortment as a result of the renewal will enable us to meet our customers' wishes. In addition, the new store concept will make shopping even easier and more interesting,” says Harri Koponen, Vice President, Store Network and Concept.
The Tokmanni store in Kuusamo will offer a comprehensive and an interesting assortment of especially beauty, health and wellbeing, interior decoration, cleaning, clothing, leisure, gardening, home electronics, home renovation and seasonal products, as well as non-perishable foods at very low prices, in the true spirit of Tokmanni. In addition, the Kuusamo store will offer a wide selection of hot tubs, trailers and boat trailers, and also trailer rental services.
The Kuusamo store will be open normally during the renovation. Approximately 20 Tokmanni employees under the supervision of Store Manager Antti Kouri will serve customers from 8 am to 8 pm on weekdays, from 8 am to 6 pm on Saturdays and from 11 am to 6 pm on Sundays at Luomantie 2, 93600 Kuusamo.
Tokmanni’s store chain is growing and modernising
Tokmanni aims to expand its store network to more than 220 stores in Finland. Tokmanni currently has 196 stores throughout the country.
Tokmanni has announced that it will open new stores in the Lippulaiva shopping centre in Espoo, and in the centre of Nurmijärvi and in Rusko in Oulu in the near future. Earlier this year, Tokmanni opened new stores in the Kaari shopping centre in the Kannelmäki district of Helsinki, Leppävirta and the Kausala district of Iitti, and relocated to even better facilities in the Forum shopping centre in Jyväskylä city centre and the Trio shopping centre in Lahti city centre. Tokmanni closed its store in the Rajalla shopping centre Tornio, acquired the Kemi and Tornio stores of the TEX chain, and expanded its store in Kaarina. Tokmanni has also refurbished several of its stores around Finland this year.
