Tokmanni to open its 200th store in Jyskä in Jyväskylä – Spacious store will offer extensive range of varied products

Tokmanni will celebrate the opening of its 200th store, the Jyskä store in Jyväskylä, from 8 am on Thursday 26 January 2023 with lots of special offers and surprise buckets filled with product gifts. This will be the variety discount retailer’s third Tokmanni store in Jyväskylä.
The business operations of the store that was previously known as Jyskän Varastomyymälä were transferred to Tokmanni’s control at the beginning of the year. Since then, the store, which measures around 5,500 square metres, has been closed for renovation to integrate it into the Tokmanni brand and prepare it for the opening.
The store, which from now on will serve customers as a Tokmanni store, will offer a diverse assortment of, in particular, beauty, health and wellbeing, interior decoration, cleaning, clothing, leisure, home electronics, home renovation, seasonal products and non-perishable foods
“When planning the store’s product range, we took our customers’ wishes into account. Tools and products related to leisure and home electronics, for example, have been particularly popular in Jyskä, and we want to continue to focus on the selections of these products,” says Timo Heimo, Vice President, Sales and Supply Chain, at Tokmanni.
“The Tokmanni brand will allow us to offer a large number of completely new products and product categories to shoppers in the region. We have introduced even more clothing products, for example. The store will also undergo renovation later this year to bring it in line with Tokmanni’s latest store concept,” he adds.
Tokmanni is especially delighted to be celebrating the opening of its 200th Tokmanni store in Jyskä in Jyväskylä.
“Our newest Tokmanni store is ideal for us and many of our customers, because it is situated in an excellent commercial location in terms of traffic flow, by the E63 road between the centre of Jyväskylä and Vaajakoski. The spacious parking area also makes customers’ shopping trips easy,” Heimo says.
The store, headed by Store Manager Saija Pirkkanen, employs around 20 retail sector professionals. The majority of them are former employees of the Jyskän Varastomyymälä store who have transferred to Tokmanni.
The store will serve its customers with extensive opening hours: on weekdays from 8 am to 8 pm, on Saturdays from 9 am to 7 pm and on Sundays from 10 am to 6 pm. The store’s address is Vaajakoskentie 97, 40420 Jyskä.
Convenient services and sustainable choices
In addition to its comprehensive product selection, Tokmanni focuses on services that make customers’ daily lives easier and on smart energy choices. For example, the Jyskä store in Jyväskylä and many other Tokmanni stores have a recycling point where customers can bring their broken hairdryers, shavers and other small electrical appliances, as well as light bulbs and batteries.
In every Tokmanni store, customers can also purchase products very conveniently as the variety discount retailer chain’s Tokmanni Tukku business customer and as a member of the Tokmanni Klubi customer loyalty program. Customers can also collect orders placed in the Tokmanni online store and withdraw cash when paying for purchases.
Tokmanni purchases only zero-emission electricity for its locations. In addition, the lighting in the Jyskä store uses energy-efficient LED technology. Tokmanni seeks to reduce waste by, among other things, optimising order volumes and deliveries and by selling soon-to-expire food products (red label products) at considerable discounts.
The opening of the Jyskä store in January will enable Tokmanni to respond to the wishes of its customers. As the store is joining the Tokmanni brand, customers will be able to take advantage of the offers and other benefits provided by the variety discount retailer’s Tokmanni Klubi customer loyalty program.
Opening offers and surprise buckets with product gifts
Tokmanni will celebrate the opening of its 200th store with plenty of special offers and with its famous surprise buckets filled with products gifts. The opening offers will be valid from Thursday to Sunday 26–29 January, and the surprise buckets will be handed out to the first thousand customers on the opening day. What is more, an EUR 100 Tokmanni gift card has been hidden in two of the buckets.
At the opening on Thursday morning on 26 January 2023, Tokmanni will be represented by Timo Heimo, Vice President, Sales and Supply Chain, and Nina Laukkanen, Regional Manager, in addition to the store personnel.
Suitable addition to the store network
The new store in Jyskä will excellently complement Tokmanni's store network in Jyväskylä. Tokmanni already has two stores in Jyväskylä, one in Seppälänkangas and the other in the Forum Jyväskylä shopping centre in the heart of the city. There is also a Tokmanni store in Laukaa, some 20 kilometres from Jyväskylä. Tokmanni has also signed an agreement on the opening of a new store in the Keljo store district in Jyväskylä. There is also a dedicated store of Tokmanni's Miny lifestyle brand in the Forum Jyväskylä shopping centre.
In addition to the new store that will be opened in the Keljo district of Jyväskylä, Tokmanni has entered into agreements on the opening of new stores in Konala in Helsinki and Söderkulla in Sipoo. The opening of the new store in Konala will be celebrated in the spring, and the new store in Söderkulla is expected to be opened during the current year.
Tokmanni aims to expand its store network in Finland to more than 220 Tokmanni stores by the end of 2025.
