Tokmanni to open new store in Nikkilä, Sipoo – Store opening possible this year

Tokmanni has launched a project to open a new Tokmanni store in Nikkilä, Sipoo. The store will be located close to other commercial services at Jokilaaksontie 1. Tokmanni is already active in Sipoo, as a new store is currently being built in Söderkulla, Sipoo’s southern centre.

Tokmanni has purchased land in Nikkilä for its store from the municipality of Sipoo and has started planning the store. The variety discount retailer chain aims to celebrate the opening of the store in Nikkilä later this year, provided that the permits are approved early this year.

The Tokmanni store to be built in Nikkilä, Sipoo, will be around 3,000 square metres in size, which will make it possible to offer a wide assortment of products. The new store will also include a seasonal department of around 500 square metres, which will sell gardening products, winter tools, flowers and plants, for example, depending on the season.

Tokmanni has also entered into agreements on opening new Tokmanni stores in Pälkäne, in Eurajoki, and in Söderkulla, Sipoo. The construction of the Tokmanni stores in Pälkäne and Sipoo is underway and the store openings are planned for the spring of 2024. Construction of the Tokmanni store in Eurajoki is scheduled to start in the spring, and the opening is planned for the autumn of 2024. The Tokmanni store chain celebrated its latest store opening in December in Katajaharju, Kouvola.

In addition to the above, Tokmanni is currently renovating its store in the Elovainio business centre in Ylöjärvi. Last autumn, the Tokmanni Group concluded an agreement with the retailer and entrepreneurial couple Terttu and Jaakko Pirtinaho’s Mutalan Kauppa Oy to acquire the business of the Villen Kauppa grocery store, which operated in the business centre. Tokmanni acquired the business at the beginning of this year. The operations of Villen Kauppa will be merged into the Tokmanni store serving in the business centre during the first part of the year.

In Finland, the Tokmanni Group includes the variety discount retailer Tokmanni, the shoe chains Click Shoes and Shoe House, and the lifestyle brand Miny. Currently, the Tokmanni variety discount retailer chain has 201 stores, Click Shoes has 28 stores, Shoe House has two stores and Miny has six stores in Finland. This spring, in addition to the Tokmanni stores mentioned above, the number of stores will increase in at least the Click Shoes chain, which will open a new shoe store in the Koskikeskus shopping centre in the heart of Tampere by the end of April. In Finland, Tokmanni also serves its customers through the Tokmanni and Click Shoes online stores.

The Tokmanni Group also owns the Swedish Dollarstore variety discount retailer. Dollarstore currently has 130 Dollarstore stores in Sweden and four Big Dollar stores in Denmark.


The Tokmanni Group aims to expand its Tokmanni store network in Finland to more than 220 stores by the end of 2025.
