Tokmanni will open a new store in Kirkonkylä in Nurmijärvi

Tokmanni, the largest general discount retailer chain in Finland, has concluded an agreement with the Lehto Group on the leasing of premises for a new store in the Kirkonkylä area in Nurmijärvi, at the address Toreenintie 2a, 01900 Nurmijärvi. Tokmanni already has a store in the Klaukkala area in Nurmijärvi that will be unaffected by this development. The opening of the new Tokmanni in Nurmijärvi will be celebrated in October–November 2021.

Tokmanni in Nurmijärvi will offer a wide and attractive assortment of beauty, health and wellbeing, interior decoration, cleaning, clothing, leisure, home electronics, home renovation and seasonal products as well as non-perishable foods at the usual low prices. The store’s selections will also have a strong focus on garden and yard products.

The new store will excellently complement Tokmanni’s service offering in Nurmijärvi, where the general discount retailer already has a store in the area of Klaukkala in the southern part of the municipality.

“Tokmanni has for quite some time been searching for a suitable business location in the Kirkonkylä area in Nurmijärvi, where we see a clear need for a diverse and cheap store like Tokmanni. Good cooperation with the Municipality of Nurmijärvi and the Lehto Group will enable us to significantly improve the service offering in Kirkonkylä in Nurmijärvi next year. Tokmanni has had good experiences of cooperation on store sites with the Lehto Group in the past,” says Harri Koponen, Tokmanni’s Store Network and Concept Director.

The new store, which will have a total floor area of approximately 2,700 square metres, will feature Tokmanni’s latest store concept that highlights easy and pleasant shopping, with wide aisles and products arranged into convenient product areas, for example.

The design of the retail building pays special attention to energy efficiency. For instance, energy-saving LED lights will be used for the store lighting and a solar power plant consisting of hundreds of solar panels will be installed on the building’s roof.

The new Tokmanni will employ around 15 people whose recruitment will be started next spring.
