Andrew Page has been recognised for its excellence in Health & Safety by winning the prestigious Safer Workplace Award, as part of the National Personal Safety Awards, sponsored by the Suzy Lamplugh Trust.

“These awards are for organisations who have made a real difference in improving the personal safety of their employees. Andrew Page has made the company a safer place to work, enabling its staff to feel safer and work in a safer way,” said Ian Johannessen, Founder and Managing Director from People Safe.

“Furthermore, Andrew Page has succeeded in encouraging staff to be more aware of their personal safety, as well as the safety of their colleagues.”

One significant area of improvement to keep its employees safe while working is the introduction of lone workers GPS panic devices which can be set off in case of emergency. The company has also implemented a number of other improvements including increased investment in safety footwear, after analysis showed multiple instances of items being dropped. Since the investment, accidents and injuries have reduced by two thirds.

Mark Saunders, Andrew Page chief executive concluded: “This award and the improvements made are testimony to the hard work of our branch health and safety officer, the health & safety committee along with every employee playing their part, helping to keep the working environment safe.”

Mr Saunders also commented, “This award also comes during a year when we have made significant productivity gains following recent investments in telematics and telephony with sales per employee increasing by 12% in addition to a our van fleet efficiency improving 38%, which show that safety and productivity can be improved simultaneously.”
