Andrew Page rewards garages with “Battle of Britain” track day
A number of lucky Andrew Page customers have been treated to a full track day experience with PalmerSport, thanks to the “Battle of Britain” promotion, in conjunction with Mintex.
As part of the year-long “Give Me A Brake” campaign by the leading autoparts and workshop equipment distributor, the “Battle of Britain” gave Andrew Page customers the chance to win a pair of tickets to the race day, simply by purchasing Mintex products in June. With 16 pairs of tickets up for grabs, garages across the UK fought to get their hands on the prizes, at one of the UK’s greatest corporate race circuits.
Taking part at Bedford Aerodrome, the 16 successful garages were offered the chance to drive a variety of cars with a combined worth of more than £3 million, with lap times being logged to find out the event’s best drivers. The whole of the UK was represented on the day, with competing garages looking to get their hands on a host of individual trophies, as well as an overall team prize.
After a day of fierce competition in each of the models on a number of courses, Jack Warry from Surecar Limited, Bristol walked away victorious as driver of the day. Clocking the fastest times in five of the individual challenges, he also secured a podium finish in the Ariel Atom 3 challenge, only beaten by Jon Guyett of SMS Autocare, Horton.
Aside from Jack and Jon, there were also victories for Graeme Lillywhite of Clacy Garage, Hampshire, and Andrew Barker of Western Garage, Harrogate, picking up the karting and off-road challenge titles respectively.
Mark Saunders, chief executive of Andrew Page presented the awards on the day and said: “The competitions in this campaign include great prizes and giveaways such as electronic goods, garage equipment, and even a MINI, but nothing quite gets the heart racing like being set loose on a racetrack.”
“The event with PalmerSport was a big success, and we’ve had really positive feedback from the winning garages, who are already asking if we’ll do the same competition next year,” Mark concluded.
