AP Racing unveils PRO Torque affordable carbon clutches
AP Racing, the leading manufacturer of performance braking and clutch systems for race and road use, has introduced its new family of twin plate and multiple plate carbon/carbon clutches designed to offer great value for motorsport applications.
Designed using AP Racing’s unique Radi-CAL™ approach, this new family of products offer all the usual benefits of carbon clutches, but in a far more affordable package in order to all appeal to all sectors of competition.
Using this more organic design ethos, the PRO Torque family of products will provide long service life, improve modulation and are resistant to high intensity applications. Derived from AP Racing extensive experience at all levels of motorsport, including F1, the new designs benefit from the company’s attention to detail precision engineering and heritage.
With two initial products at launch, the first PRO Torque model cover push-type, twin and triple plate Ø140mm and Ø184mm clutches. Further models will be introduced to the range going forward.
CP8292/CP8293
These Pro Torque twin plate/triple plate Ø140mm push-type clutches incorporate a stainless steel, high-ratio (HiR) pressure plate, with separate fulcrum ring, and a one-piece aluminium cover. Using heavy-duty carbon plates, the clutch offers improved modulation yet proves highly durable in a variety of applications.
Product options include: two variants of diaphragm spring, a single cover and pressure plate material, and a stepped flywheel fixing to accommodate a cushion pressure plate system.
These models are not suitable for GT applications, due to a restricted ‘wear-in’ period.
CP8452/CP8453
These Pro Torque twin plate/triple plate Ø180mm push-type clutches incorporate a stainless steel, very high ratio (VHR) pressure plate, with separate fulcrum ring, and a 12-bolt, one-piece aluminium cover. Using heavy-duty carbon plates, the clutch offers improved modulation yet proves highly durable in a variety of applications.
Product options include: two variants of diaphragm spring, a single cover and pressure plate material, and a stepped flywheel fixing to accommodate a cushion pressure plate system.
AP Racing’s new PRO Torque clutches will be available to order early in 2016.
