15 October 2015

  • Excellent braking performance and improved wet grip throughout tyre service life
  • Conti Coach: Highly cost effective with fuel savings of up to 3 percent
  • Conti CityPlus: optimum ride comfort and perfect handling

There are three crucial requirements for bus tyres: comfort, cost effectiveness, and safety. Continental’s premium Generation 3 tyres for passenger transport, Conti Urban, Conti CityPlus, and Conti Coach, cover every area of use from regular city services through regional transport to the long-distance coach segment. Every tyre has been constructed for a very specific application, to best meet customers' needs and operations.

The Conti CityPlus HA3 has been specially developed for use in regional transport, a demanding and growing segment. This tyre, developed for fitment on all axles, is available in size 295/80 R 22.5. It is characterised by excellent handling and wet-grip qualities, very long service life, and uniform wear. Solid 3D sipes ensure additional grip and consistent braking performance throughout the tyre’s service life.

For long-distance travel, the Conti Coach HA3 is available for all-round fitment in sizes 295/80 R 22.5 and 315/80 R 22.5. The tread compound is specially developed for passenger transport, and features a tread design with solid three-dimensional grip sipes, offering maximum safety and optimum ride comfort together with improved rolling resistance. On the road the Conti Coach HA3 ensures good longitudinal and transverse grip, directional stability and steering precision, as well as excellent performance in the wet for the entire service life of the tyre, thanks to the siping technology.

Constantin Batsch, Vice President Business Region Truck Tires EMEA states: "In the growing commercial passenger transport segment, bus companies face tough international competition, especially in the long-distance transport field. For them the most important aspects are good ride comfort for passengers, safety and cost effectiveness, from fuel efficiency to retreadability – all features which are provided by Continental’s bus tyres.”
