DAF Trucks has been awarded the title LGV Manufacturer of the Year by industry-leading GreenFleet magazine.

The awards ceremony, presented by motoring journalist Quentin Willson, was held recently at the Heritage Motor Centre in Warwickshire in front of an audience of over 300 industry representatives. DAF was ultimately awarded not only for their Euro 6 design and application but also for their interactive Driver Performance Assistant programme, which provides drivers with real-time feedback as to the most cost and fuel efficient driving techniques.

DAF Trucks managing director Ray Ashworth who accepted the award said: “We are delighted that our efforts towards providing the highest levels of fuel efficiency and reliability for our customers has been recognised. Our Euro 6 engine design and driver-focused performance reporting enable fleets to dramatically improve their emission performance as well as lower their overall costs.”

The GreenFleet Awards are held annually to acknowledge those individuals and organisations which work hardest to reduce the environmental impact of fleet transport through innovation. Each category is judged by a panel comprising industry experts, consultants and GreenFleet magazines editorial team.
