DAF Trucks shortlisted twice for Fleet Truck of the Year award

DAF Trucks has received confirmation that two of its truck ranges have been shortlisted for top honours at the transport industry’s premier awards event – the Motor Transport Awards 2015. Acknowledged as the industry ‘Oscars’, the Motor Transport Awards recognises excellence in a number of categories with Fleet Truck of the Year seen as the highest prize for vehicle manufacturers.

The Motor Transport Awards culminates this year with a gala ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on July 1st.

It is highly unusual for Motor Transport Awards judges to nominate two truck ranges from a single manufacturer and, naturally, DAF Trucks is delighted to see its name featured prominently amongst its competitors. Should either of the DAF nominations win the award it would bring about the company’s 16thvictory in the Motor Transport Awards’ 30-year history.

“There’s always a buzz of excitement at this time of year,” said DAF Trucks Managing Director, Ray Ashworth, “The shortlists have been drawn-up, the awards evening is just two months away and we’re all very excited at the prospect of maybe another Fleet Truck of the Year award.”

DAF Trucks has scooped the Fleet Truck of the Year award on no fewer than 15 previous occasions, 11 of which for the CF range alone.

“I believe the judging process lends great credibility to the MT Awards,” added Ashworth, “Leading figures from across the transport business are selected to adjudicate and they are chosen for their wealth of experience and respected opinions; their conclusions pooled together to provide a wholly unbiased, insightful appraisal of competing companies. A Motor Transport Award, therefore, is just about the highest accolade the industry can bestow.”
