David Brown Automotive to show its stunning Speedback GT to international visitors at Techno Classica Essen
Coventry, England (30 March 2016): David Brown Automotive will return to the Techno Classica show in Essen from the 6th to 10th April 2016, displaying its unique luxury sports car, the Speedback GT.
Following highly successful public appearances in Europe, the USA and Dubai over the last 12 months, Speedback GT will once again take centre stage on the Classic Remise stand at Techno Classica Essen. Visitors to this year’s show will have the opportunity to view a production-standard car, following the 237 design and engineering improvements made since the marque launched the prototype in April 2014.
Speedback GT is a coachbuilt British sports car that has the styling of a retro ‘Grand Tourer’ with a modern twist. The car benefits from the latest in drivetrain technology and is built using modern engineering techniques, but retains high levels of handcraftsmanship, with each vehicle requiring over 3,200 man hours to complete. Combined with its distinctive, elegant and simple Sixties-inspired looks, it is sure to catch the eye of the thousands of visitors to the annual Essen showcase.
“As a car enthusiast, there’s no event like Techno Classica Essen, and we’re delighted to return for the second year running,” says company founder David Brown. “We launched Speedback GT two years ago, and we’re delighted to have delivered our first customer car in Paris earlier this year. It’s great to show the car again in the knowledge that the first customer vehicle is now being driven on the roads of Europe.
“Germany has always been a key market for us since our launch; our attendance at the show only reinforces our commitment to the market, and also provides a chance to show the car to the event’s strong international visitor profile, too.”
Techno Classica Essen spans more than 120,000m2 and is divided into 20 halls and four open air areas. The world-famous event is a hub for vintage, classic and prestigious automobiles and motorcycles, and houses over 1,250 exhibitors, from OEM manufacturers, to clubs and interest groups.
Visitors will be able to see Speedback GT and talk to members of the David Brown Automotive team in Hall 1, Stand No. 315. David Brown will also be available on the stand to take questions by appointment on 7th to 10th April.
