Time critical and high-value-goods logistics provider, GBA Services, has reported its best ever week for sales in the company’s 30-year history.

The Lancashire-headquartered road, sea and air-freight specialist says its business has seen a 36% increase in year-to-date sales, highlighted by a 62% increase spike during week 27 compared to the same seven days in 2014. Moreover, GBA Services’ growth in the UK is reflected across its European operations, including Austria and Poland which, together, have contributed to a more than 40% year-to-date increase in revenue.

The figures, the company says, reflect a continuing upturn in business and is in line with GBA Services’ ambitious plans for long-term growth.

“We’re making rapid progress with our air-charter business specifically,” says Sales Director, Wayne Smith, “and that’s come primarily from new business wins. It’s a reflection of our ability to serve the global economy and we’ve enjoyed our best-ever week as a result. The demand for goods,” he says, “is high and that means our High Priority Time Critical expertise is reaping rewards. Further, we’re winning conquest work across our portfolio of services; it’s part of a continuing upturn in business for us and matches our forecast for long-term growth.”

Significant among GBA Services’ recent new business wins in 2015 is a major, Midlands-based First Tier supplier to the automotive sector. A significant proportion of the company’s business stems from the automotive industry and is consolidated by the company’s recent acquisition of a 50,000 sq.ft. state-of-the-art warehouse facility in the West Midlands at Minworth.

“Our Minworth location is right at the heart of the UK’s automotive scene,” adds Smith, “and we have the capacity to expand – indeed, plans are afoot to acquire additional premises as our customers demand more space. Facilities at Minworth are ultra-modern, offering secure warehousing and storage, and rapid response to any Time Critical demands.”

Recent investment in equipment includes 10 Euro-6 DAF XF 460 FT Super Space Cabs and 45 Mercedes Sprinter 316CDI vans – further enhancing GBA Services’ reputation as the largest privately owned Time Critical transport company in the UK operating owned fleet.
