London – As part of its mission to develop the world’s best map and navigation app, HERE is on the lookout for Android users to test its latest features in a new beta test programme. This public programme will help HERE source performance data and feedback from users across a range of Android devices to identify issues and iterate new versions even faster.

Members of the public beta programme will be able to test new unreleased features and give the developers from HERE their honest feedback to help shape the next versions of the app.

The first element of the public beta programme available today is a new ‘contextual menu’ feature, which allows users to access a range of shortcuts with a single long-press of the map, including quickly see information about a location, sharing a location, getting directions or starting drive navigation.

People can sign up for the programme on the HERE beta programme welcome page. Members of the programme must have an Android device, using a 4.1 operating system or higher, with screen size between 4.0 and 6.9 inches and at least 1GB RAM.

HERE has accelerated the release cycle of its app to add new features, fix bugs and deliver updated versions more frequently. Since its launch last autumn the HERE app for Android has been downloaded more than 7.5 million times.

For more information on this announcement, including a video for the new contextual menu of the app, see the HERE 360 blog.
