Rayner garage strikes gold with Racecourse sponsorship

Newbury-based Bosch Car Service, Rayner, is now into the third year of its relationship with Newbury Racecourse, with its latest feature race including former Olympic champion Victoria Pendleton.

The race took place on Saturday 24th October at Newbury Racecourse’s final meeting of the 2015 Flat Season. For lady amateur riders, the race featured Victoria Pendleton, the former Great Britain cyclist has swapped two wheels for four legs, having turned her efforts to horse racing.

Unfortunately, Ms Pendleton was unable to carry the successes of Beijing 2008 and London 2012 into the race last weekend, unable to finish having been unseated from Satanic Beat. The race was ultimately won by Gina Andrews on Syncopate.

As well as race sponsorship once a season, Rayner’s relationship with the racecourse provides them with a number of event and branding opportunities throughout the season, and in return the garage ensures the racecourse’s vehicles are kept fully functional at all times. Supplying Newbury Racecourse with a Ford Ranger pick-up, as well as two chase cars and a doctor’s vehicle on race days, Rayner is an integral part of the activity at the venue.

“The partnership with Newbury Racecourse is something we really value and race days such as last Saturday make it all worthwhile,” said Robert Haynes, co-owner of Rayner. “It’s always great to be involved with the racecourse, but having a former Olympic champion in our race just added that little bit extra.”
