Reliability with no Ifs or Buts: The New Barum Tyres for Steer and Drive Axles

Barum has redesigned its commercial vehicle tyre range and is introducing the new series with the steer axle tyre BF 200 R and the drive axle tyre BD 200 R. These robust, high-performance tyres offer a low-cost alternative for truck and bus operators. The tyres demonstrate excellent service life and offer reliable handling in both regional distribution and long-distance applications. The Barum BF 200 R and BD 200 R are now available in size 315/80 R22.5.

Barum's new 200 R series is a range of tyres for trucks and buses that offers high quality at an affordable price. The steer axle tyre BF 200 R and drive axle tyre BD 200 R boast both high mileage and consistent safety, thanks to the enhanced composition of the rubber compound and the redesigned pattern on the tread.

Robust casing and a new tread design provide a long service life

A stable casing forms the basis for both tyres in the new Barum 200 R series. It is particularly durable thanks to the reinforced steel cord beads. The special liner prevents loss of compressed air and combined with the regroovable tread, it also contributes to a long service life. All Barum tyres in the 200 R series feature a retreadable casing, which extends the service life of the tyre, while also increasing efficiency within the fleet.

Both the steer axle tyre BF 200 R and the drive axle tyre BD 200 R benefit from redesigned tread geometry in the tread layer, which has considerably increased the mileage capability of both tyres. The new tread compound guarantees safe handling and driving behavior in the long term, even on wet roads.

Barum's steer axle tyre BF 200 R and the drive axle tyre BD 200 R are proof that optimal traction and cost-efficient levels of fuel consumption are not necessarily a contradiction. 

Both the BF 200 R and the BD 200 R have the M+S label. The BD 200 R also has the "Snowflake" label (3 peak mountain snowflake, 3PMSF), demonstrating that it takes into account the special requirements for drive axle tyres.
