Satisfied DAF customer adds three new XF trucks to its fleet of 19 in service with total annual mileage of 3,000,000 km

With a fleet that’s expected to travel about 3,000,000 km a year on domestic and international deliveries, Maru International, the freight forwarding specialist needs complete reliability, value for money and quality from its fleet, which now includes 22 DAF XF trucks.
“We’ve had DAF trucks for over 10 years now and we have never really had any problems with them,” said Chris Woolfitt, Transport Manager at Maru International.
“We have strong support from our DAF dealer, F&G Commercials Huddersfield, plus the reassurance of the back-up of DAFaid wherever our trucks are in Europe if we need it,” he continued.
The three new DAF XF trucks adds the first models with Euro 6 compliant emissions to its fleet, with each vehicle expected to travel about 140,000 km a year on weekly trips to the continent.
Chris has already had positive feedback from his drivers: “Our drivers are very impressed with the new DAF XF Euro 6 models, and have commented on how comfortable they are to drive and sleep in, plus how good they look – the paint job makes them look brilliant, and the blue grille really makes them stand out from the crowd.”
The Euro 6 models have settled in to their punishing schedule well, and with weekly trips to the continent lasting up to five nights away, are fully equipped with the latest 460bhp, 12.9-litre PACCAR MX-13 engine, a 12-speed AS Tronic gearbox with MX engine brake and twin fuel tanks to carry up to 1,500 litres of fuel to maximise their range between refuelling.
Other equipment fitted includes DAF Nightlock, cornering lights, axle load monitoring, truck navigation radio and high specification Super Space cabs with skylights, Xtra comfort mattress, refrigerator and integrated truckphone.
